Whether or not he "should" win the Hart, he won't. - jmatchett383
I agree. No Flyers player is ever going to get a sniff at that trophy. |

You'd better pray that he drops AND that the Flyers pick him. With your luck he'd drop and we'd choose someone else!

I mean the hockey gods weren't that nice when they gave Chacago Kane. I am hoping since the draft is in PHilly they say "40 years? Guess we should throw them a bone" |

And look how well that turned out! I also don't think they drafted him. - FlyersGrace
no, they didnt.
and i think that falls more on the player than the organization. he had talent, and was given a legitimate chance. it was just meh. |

•David Staples of the Edmonton Journal: Staple’s looks at Mark Spector’s suggestion that the Oilers could look at trading for Braydon Coburn again. The Flyers have $27 million committed to six defenseman next season, with $4.5 million going to Coburn (two years left). Staples wonders if the Oilers would offer Martin Marincin or Oscar Klefbom for Coburn. Would the Oilers offer to take on Vincent Lecavalier in a deal? |

I hate PK Subban but would love the Flyers to get him. I could care less as long as they can help the team. I am a Flyers fan not a "insert name" fan. - J35Bacher
PK Subban is an elite superstar talent with small immaturity issues. Brian Boyle is a gutless coward who plays on the 4th line. There's a difference. |

I keep going back to the Hextall presser when he said he likes young players and draft picks. I can see a couple scenarios:
- Trade down to acquire additional picks based on organizational player ranking
- Make the pick if one of their players is at 17
If what Hextall said is true, I expect less of the win now moves and more future based strategy. |

Great blog and great insight into more prospects. There seems to be a lot of interesting guys that could be available at 17. I'd actually be an advocate of trading down and acquiring more picks. |

I'll gladly take Justin Schultz and Jordan Eberle for Coburn and Lecavalier. No? Then no thanks. |

But not including all the stupid bull poop that you don't like about Boyle. He would be a solid upgrade to our fourth line, based on his hockey skills. |

From WPG Blog:
I don't think it's very far down road, if at all, but my sense is WPG much more open to considering trade for any player, incl Evander Kane.
— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) June 16, 2014
So would you include Coburn and Schenn to WPG for Bogosian and maybe pick? |

Yes, he'd be a solid upgrade. That said, much like Billy Tibbetts and Ulf Samuelsson, I refuse to root for some players even if they're on the team. You can add Jesse Boulerice to that, too. |

Why trade two pieces for one piece when the guy we are getting back is just as good as one of the guys we are sending? I would actually prefer Coburn over Bogosian. |

I don't think Hextall wants to be tarred and feathered at his first draft. - FlyersGrace
Never really thought about it until reading a current novel set during the American Revolution. But people died of being tarred and feathered. The tar causes third degree burns wherever it lands. It seems in popular culture we've made it a funny thing. But it was deadly serious at the time.

Was it his 6 assists in 44 NHL games that blew you away, or his 7 points in 24 AHL games last year? |

I just care about the cup. B. Boyle would make us a better team and that's all there is to it. |

I think the slow start really hurts him. Some people voting will say "he couldn't even make the Canadian Olympic team," too. |

Marincin had a good season in 40+ games with them last season and Klefbom was considered an untouchable at one point. |
