Trade him while he still has value and get younger if you can in the process. Im not writing him off, but if we're trying to change our losing ways and improve our roster, he's the most tradeable/replaceable forward. Sure isn't Kessel, Kadri or JVR.

If I had my way, I would trade him for picks/prospects and sign Cammalleri who isn't all that much worse than him. Win/win. I'd be just fine if he returns if that happens to be the case. He's not useless or a liability.

yes it is an overpriced contract - with only two years remaining - which is where the potential attractiveness lies.... leafs wouldn't be on the hook for ever - and Nash would know full well that he's playing for a new contract in two years time.

I happen to think that Nash and Kadri might be a good combination - and with Nash not having to the be the go to guy (which is clearly Kessel) he's in a better position than in New York...

and as for the overrated comment... well that's true of everyone not playing for the Leafs.
