The Sens ain’t winning anything with what they got back there, OR up front.
The point was someone tried to reference the appeal of playing with the likes of Macarthur, Turris, Zibanejad, Lazar or whatever (not even in the NHL yet!!!), as some sort of appeal to Bobby Ryan. There are 15+ teams that can list off a better group of forwards for him to play with. That’s all. It just seemed like a silly post. - prock
Perhaps you should worry more about your joke of a franchise, and less about a team that consistently finishes ahead of them |

Yes, there is no connection between ownership and management, especially where financial decisions are concerned. How could I have missed that.
Believe it or not, not every person who shows up on a Sens thread is here to troll the Sens fans.
- Aetherial
Obviously there is a connection, but it's possible to have good management that's handcuffed by terrible ownership......which IMO is the case in Ottawa.
As for the trolling thing, well read the poster right before you, and you'll understand why it's easy to jump to that conclusion. |

That's a pretty low ball offer. I think they could have offered atleast 4 or 4.5 million a year. By today's standards I think eh is well worth it. However at the end of the day I don't believe it over paying for players unless they are franchise type players. Odds are someone will over pay for Hemsky, so the end result is the same. All this does is shine more light on the restictive budget put in place.
can we get an online petition going that we can send to Bell asking them to buy out Melnyk and take over the team. |

We are letting our kids play and bracing them with quality nhl vets. The defense had 4 out of the 6 with less than 200 games,So i guess Cowen,Ceci ,Gryba and Weircoch cant get better???
As for the comment you made you still didnt answer my question.Do you think Philly should spend more money on scoring up front ??or should they look at signing so defensive help first??The dont really have an issue scoring goals but according to you they need another high priced winger

i want to remind people that ottawa right now has tons of young potential and are wasting away their leadership/ proven veterans
the team is potential filled.....
right now they have quantity over quality in some areas. There are certainly some blue chip youngsters but even then that doesn't mean the $ from ownership can be ignored... hopefully murray signs 1 key free agent.... not too shabby last year |

I saw EK live for the first time when I went down to Florida a couple months ago. A lot of players you can't fully appreciate until you see them live, EK definitely one. How good his skating is and just how dominant he is at distributing the puck is amazing. And he's only freshly 24. Like he will dominate for another decade |

Next year they have 62mil committed to only 17 players
The following year, 60 mil for 14 players.
Yeah, they'll easily fit ryan in.....while re-signing Schenn, Donnie, couturier, etc. |

Melnyck has to go. This cheapskate approach seems to be dwindling the assets that were built up. DeCosta gone, Hemsky trade. I think last years playoff success has hampered the teams long term improvement, let the young guns play and let the rebuild happen organicly. |

I'm not why people want to sign Milan. I agree I like the guy but where does he fit. If you sign him he and Hoffman could battle for the 2nd line. The question is; did you see his skating at the end of the year, bcuz I can't remember if it was up to par or not. We need guys that can skate (LW looks like MacArthur, Hoffman, Greening)

I am surprised Prock will show up in a Senators thread after all the garbage he spewed last season about the Leafs being so much better than the Senators. Then again, he is certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Everyone needs to remember that Prock thinks Dion is a top 10 defenceman in the NHL.

top line Mac/Turris/stone
FA/9mm/hof/zBAD/Ryan 2nd line
or a combo like
FA/9mm/Berglund/Lazar 3rd line
4th line bingo line
Gives us some flexabilty and depth enough to roll 4 lines |

Oh hush. Don't believe the media, they love having the sky falling. YES Melynk needs to spend $ when Murray NEEDS it but the on ice still has hope; but the next few weeks will show me whether I follow this team or have mild interest... |

Sometimes I wonder if he is not actually a Sens fan playing the role of a goofy Leaf fan trying to make serious Leaf fans appear somewhat limited. |
