conference, not division.

he's very strong defensively, but the stats say that enstrom is biggest reason why that pairing has any real defensive success.
byfuglien is the strongest at creating scoring chances, while it's enstrom that is the best at supressing scoring chances.

the same goes for yandle.
he's the offensive driving force, while oel is the defensive strength.

im not so sure yandle and byfuglien are much different. byfuglien has the size, while yandle still puts up great numbers on a more offensively challenged team.
both are fantastic on the pp

- hugefemale dog77

I prefer Buff, but that's because he can play physical and give us a Chara like look on the PP if needed.

Then again Yandle does have better skating and conditioning.

No there wouldn't. Before Stevens squashed his brains like the Mountain did that fruitcake on Game of Thrones 2 weeks ago, the Avalanche had 2 Stanley Cups. Avs won that trade by a landslide.

Ya because Lindros had a career filled with concussions and injury... there is no debate who won...

(frank) ya- Buff all the way... Yandle is poop- and solves very little for us IMO * if you are comparing the 2... Buff brings more to our table...

Buff was a forward most the year wasn't he? I know Yandle isn't the optimal choice, but at some point we have to take what we can get. Richarding around waiting for the perfect fit happened already to this team, doubt it's going to happen again.
- Lahey

No. Really just part way into Maurice's hiring did he move to forward. That's when he started playing less and softer comp which skewed his numbers a bit. I've posted a few times but I read his corsi as a forward is 44.1% versus 52.9% on D.

Just don't see Yandle as a fit, especially worth giving up Yak over. If they want Yandle to succeed the way he has, he needs to continue to play soft minutes-continuing to feed Schultz and Petry to the wolves

seriously just advocating a J Staal LIKE deal.

not sure who for, maybe ROR, Zajac, idk

- TheNugeIsHuge

Oh for sure. I have no issue with that type of trade at all. Not sure either who that player is. Maybe Schenn? Boazk?

I would say that might be one of the worst trades for a player of that caliber.

I know the type of D I want to see, just can't place a name....something like a poor man's Ryan Suter in style, I suppose.

I meant to say strong "offensively", while enstrom is the defensive conscience.
but I think u guys got that.

anyway, yeah for me it's close. I espouse size all the time and byfuglien has that in spades. he can be a truly dominant player.

but as you said, I love yandles skating and ability to control the play when he carries the puck.

but despite his size, byfuglien is first and foremost an offensive guy and has some serious defensive warts

you'll have to show me the stats that say enstrom is the defensive stalwart of the pairing. I know that Enstrom had a difficult time playing without Buff last season

Enstrom is crazy underrated, too

Bozak would make a amazing third line center and a solid second line guy. His defensive abilities are his best part of his game .

bozak is okay defensively but he benefits a lot from his superstar linemates. I'm not sold on Schenn yet

look at this on bozak http://stats.hockeyanalys...ue&season=2013-14&sit=5v5

Well through process of elimination we might end up just having to draft this mystery center than I guess.

For philly as he never did do what they would hope for him and his concussion history and what for berg did in his career.

he (enstrom) was their best defensive dman and had the toughest zone starts.

right up your alley. convuluted numbers that paint a picture, but can be very misconstrued.

"Byfuglien is the best Jet blue liner when it comes to generating scoring chances for and Enstrom -- who is commonly miss-casted by fans as an offensive only defensemen -- is the best Jet blue liner when it comes to suppressing scoring attempts against"

I'm fine with that. I like Draisaitl a lot. I hope BUF doesn't for some odd reason take him at 2

Oh ya, there you go.

Wonder if EDM could find a suitor to partner with Buff that it somewhat of an Enstrom-lite in the scoring chance limiting category

Hard to believe some don't find Byfuglien to be a top pairing guy
