I dont think Buff is going to be terribly expensive...
- saskoil21

Another free-ranging D-Man ? I hear is possesion numbers are good but I was thinking someone who can defend is a priority, providing he can make a pass.

Camp toilets are impossible to plug. I eat like there's no tomorrow and my turds are the size of Volkswagons yet nothing remains after I flush. It's pretty impressive.

I agree... Lahey stated years ago that Yandle is not the best answer
- saskoil21

I think a two way stud is probably the best answer. but we aint getting ryan suter.

yandle's been the 3rd top pairing guy mentioned in 3 days along with phaneuf, byfuglien. some posters have had some issues with all of them. and fair enough. but what I think we need to realize is that if they didn't have some drawbacks, there would be no chance of acquiring them. top pairing dmen on the market and few and far between.

and yandle and byfuglien are very similar.
yandle is a fantastic offensively. let's be very clear about this. while byfuglien is also absolutely offence first

TBH- we really need dman that can make a pass... That is all I am asking for- for now anyway- a dman that can (frank)ing pass... ideally- lets trade jultz or petry and pick up buff...

Oh ya, there you go.

Wonder if EDM could find a suitor to partner with Buff that it somewhat of an Enstrom-lite in the scoring chance limiting category

Hard to believe some don't find Byfuglien to be a top pairing guy

- TheNugeIsHuge

That could certainly play in our favor. It's way easier to get a top 6 forward than a top pairing defender. Maybe we could even manage to have Buff be this years Perron. Snatch him up and play him on the blueline.

So is Bogosian, Meyers or Josi out of the question? None will be cheap, none are particularly outstanding at any facet, but all are pretty good at the 2-way game, and would likely be our best D-Man for a few years.

But Ramsay and Buff worked together... and now we have Ramsay- Willis or Lowetide wrote some poop on this yesterday or the day before... It could be a great fit...

He doesn't want to play forward and he's wasted at forward. EDM should hop on that sh*t asap.

and like I've mentioned before, can you imagine the BBC on that top pairing if Nurse pans out?

Doubtfully on contracts. I'm not exactly opposed to signing him. Rather have him then be calling up guys from OKC that have no business in the NHL. He's a good 7-8 to have.

There are some really (frank)ed up votes when you get pass the top 5 though. Although I assume that Buff's 20 goals is why he got votes, not his defensive skill.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but imagine trading the 1st overall for Subban so MTL could draft Yak and Gally... should have done it if that was really on the table...
