Hindsight is always 20/20 but imagine trading the 1st overall for Subban so MTL could draft Yak and Gally... should have done it if that was really on the table...

He's not ideal. But if it means having a competent 2nd line NHL centre for 2 more years while we develop one of Bennett or Draisaitl, I think you have to take it.


He did get 51 points in the regular season. Sure Gagner can do the same (we hope) but if we can move sideways and bring in a 2nd line centre using no assets, then move out gagner for another hole, i think we could be better off. That's as long as Richards doesn't completely go Belanger on us.

I'd say Kane and eberle are pretty much even. Kane is worth more the Perron.
