Stafford has in the past. I'm pretty sure Murray is gonna hold onto both him and Stafford until the deadline, or at least he should.

If he has a good year I think he signs elsewhere.

If he has an ok year and nets say 15 goals and 35-40 points id resign him for 2-3 years

He's like Kotalik and Grosek before him. If Stafford gets involved, uses his body, finishes checks, etc., that's when he's playing his best hockey.

Much like those other two - and they had less than stellar Sabre careers - he takes far too many games off. Then, BAM, he'll have a two-goal game and everybody loves him again.

It's really up to him, but for Christ's sake, he's 28 years old. Why has it taken 8 seasons to finally get it?

Even at his best, which comes a long less frequently than a blue moon, he's about a penny a dozen. The Sabres need to move on from him simply to purge themselves from the old regime as much as possible.

Great comparisons. I was looking the other day, stafford is actually bigger than evander kane- same height, stafford is heavier. I think kotalik and stafford both had very good shots, but both are pretty much one trick ponies. Both are wingers that had the size to be power forwards but rarely showed the drive. Grosek was different. I remember him running all over and hitting people, I dont think he had the scoring ability of the other 2. All 3 left you thinking "theres gotta be more" until you realized there just wasnt.

I think grosek got us dumont and gilmour. Guess we werent the only ones who thought there might be more there
