Can he play checking minutes? If so, I'd throw 2.5 at him. - TheSabresTaco
Seto is a 3rd liner that can play 2nd line mins if injuries happen. |

He'd probably be on the 1st line here 10 games into the season.... Or from the start. |

Something I learned while in the collection industry from the owner of the company, "Don't throw away good money going after bad money". That is big time UFA shopping this offseason for a team like Buffalo. - dadeadhead
yeah I don't want to go all NYR on this team in the slightest. But if you GOTTA spend money.......
2-3 guys who stack up to 12m wouldn't be the worst. Trades or FA. |

IMO he's not a better option than Staff or Stewart at this point. Put him on the 3rd line. |

But that's the problem though, if they plan on competing in 2 years, his cap hit will still be a problem for this team. - Sabresfan-365
This team is not competing in 2 years . They don't even sniff the playoffs till 16 -17 . Cup contenders in 18 -19 . Your new superstars will still be on opening contracts. Or RFA's . We finally get a player that actually wants to come to Buffalo and folks are insisting he get no more than a three year deal . Moulson will still be an effective player . You can always trade him at one of the drafts in future years if you feel you need to clear space.

None of that is guaranteed, won't be too many teams lining up for a guy with 4 more years left at 6 million if he's producing at a minimal pace.
And assuming our top pick this year and next play right away, they'll probably be due for Hall like contracts in 16-17 and 17-18.
It's nice that he wants to be here but I would hate to see this team overpay for someone just because he says he comfortable here. I bet Clarkson's really comfortable in Toronto. |

And you know for sure he won't be effective and won't be tradable ? Nothing is a sure thing . He is a non physical player . He will be fine . Give him 5 years. #1 pick this year goes back to junior any ways . That means he is on an entry level deal 4 years into Moulson's 5 year deal . We have to spend money to make cap floor . He has not had 1 good year like Clarkson. |

Why take the chane he won't be though?
I know people like Moulson, I like him too, but leadership and being a decent goal scorer isn't something he possesses in such a greater magnitude that we need to sign him to a long term deal (assuming that's what he wants) |

Man....
Eklund gives it a kiss of death...
I am really really wishing that we can bring back Moulson.
hard working two way guy who never takes a night off and could pot 30 goals if on the right line combo..
I like out top 6 a lot more with Moulson, Staff, and Stewart. Some vets! |

Much better than signing Callahan for 7 . he provides some glue even though it is not WNY Callaglue . I don't want to sign all scrubs. No matter who you sign there is a chance of something going wrong . There a lot worse signings that can be made than Moulson. His relationship with Nolan is what sells me . He is not going to be going behind Nolan's back and chirping to the younger players.

IMO both Moulson and Callahan would be a nice choice but it's still early with both players to tell for sure. |
