Most think the Flyers are a few tweaks away from contention. There was some debate about the value of Ekblad. Draft ranking from ob. Ethics debate on trading players after signing them long term with a focus on Carter. I'm sure I missed some.
(Edit): And the Flyers hired Gord Murphy and let go Paddock. - aflyerpower8
Interesting. So is Murphy going to be the defense coach? |

Yeah, sounds like it. Was kind of surprised that they didn't bring in Mark Morris, former Manchester Monarchs coach(under Hextall as Kings AHL team) |

The rumor about the pursuit of #1 overall is intriguing and highly unlikely. I wonder if Ghost would be part of the package? If Ekblad is considered at worst a #2 d-man and Morin can be retained, certainly something to think about.
The Schenns, Ghost and #17 for #1. I know the price is absurd, but how many opporutnities do you get to acquire a franchise d-man? Granted, there are no guarantees, but as we have seen a franchise d-man at the NHL is most times not available unless he is in the twilight of his career, or the organization can't afford him. |

If I'm adding Gostisbehere, I'd like a prospect back or at least another pick. |

Hey- maybe it'll have some impact. All things considered, a pretty minor move though |

I know he's been an assistant for awhile, don't know a ton about him in that regard. He was a solid, smart player, so maybe that helps. |

If Sutter is too hungover to coach, Stevens can step in |

Does the nature of his role change? Is it like coaching by committee now? |

Porzingis was concerned he wasn’t ready for NBA. Wanted to keep developing. A likely top 5 pick in 2015 if he progresses. |

Not sure, but there's been a few rumors that Sutter is looking to retire in a couple years and Stevens is a highly coveted potential head coach. I'm guessing that it's a way of making it clear he's the next guy in LA.

I bring up Ghost because of his family being from FLA, his national exposure in the Frozen Four, and long-term a replacement for Campbell.
I guess my basic premise is if Ekblad is considered a true blue chip defensive prospect, a high price shouldn't be a deterent, especially for this organization. Of course, he better turn out to be Doughty and not become another Bogosian. To your point, what would be a fair draft pick exchanged? A 4th in this year's draft?

Rather get a 2nd or 3rd next year. They only have a 1st in 2015.
I'd want a prospect or pick back if I was to include any of Morin, Gostisbehere or Hagg |
