Excuse my ignorance or if this offends anyone but for weeks I've heard the names Dominic Moore, Brian Boyle, Benoit Pouliot and Anton Stralman's names being thrown around as being the answers to plugin up the holes the Flyers have. Brad Richards might be bought out soon, should we chase him too? These are names we probably wouldn't have cared to chase if we didn't recently get our butts kicked by them. It's like saying we should trade the Flyers roster straight up for the Rangers roster. Ek's Ott rumour feels like a breath of fresh air to me.
I like Ott. Whether or not he's a good is yet to be seen. He can play anywhere in the bottom six, center or wing. He kills penalties and he's a pain in the ass for the other team. Real charactor guy and might be the best in the business for what he does. Drive teams crazy. Easily better then Downie.

One of my coworkers said the Sharks love Vinny and tried to sign him when the Flyers did. He says they still love him and that he'd be willing to trade Marleau for Vinny and Grossman.
I hear ya. I just cant watch another season of the slowest team on ice. Personally I dont think the Rangers are all that great. Yet they made the Flyers look horrible. - GOA88
First it's trade everybody, and play the kids. Which is about the worst suggestion that could be made. And now it's the Flyers are the slowest team on ice. There's no question that the Flyers need to add a few peices, and find some consistency in their game. When they move their feet and play the right way, they're certainly not a slow team. Not the fastest team on ice, but a lot closer to the middle of the pack overall.

It would cause a lot of teams to reshape things. But replacing Pronger with a bunch of lesser parts has left them with an expensive, but unspectacular defense that still needs a number one defenseman to anchor things. Maybe instead of trading three second rounders, three third rounders and a fourth rounder for Streit, MacDonald, Grossmann and Kubina, they could have packaged all those pick together for a legit top pair guy of higher quality. Or held those picks and used a 1st rounder to land one. - Jsaquella
Agreed 100%. But that's what happens when you are dilusional and think you have a chance to win now.
If they can take a time machine and either go back to last year's draft or forward to next year's draft, I would do that. - jmatchett383
Just the second player to be granted exceptional status in the OHL. Ekblad is a true "two-way" defenseman. He makes great passes, uses his size to his advantage, plays the body, quarterbacks the power play, can take over the game in any of the three zones and has great hockey sense. He is a sure fire top 3 pick in this summers NHL entry draft.

Yes...and if he was in last year's draft, he'd be ranked about 6th. He projects about as high as Erik Johnson did.
Then again, I'm sure you're a Colts season ticket holder and watched him play live in person all season long.
