I would have liked to get Del Zotto but know way rangers are trading to Philly. Maybe a deal with NSH could be made. Vinny to NSH for del zotto - J35Bacher
We'd have to eat most his salary and perhaps draft pick to land MDZ. |

Yeah I would like to add Boyle he plays good defense and can play well on the PK. Him with Couts could be great. I wonder if the other Boyle could be a could fit for a year rental. |

From Josh Rimer's blog here on HB:
"Also look for former Lightning & Coyotes Coach Rick Tocchet to be named an assistant coach with the Penguins."
REALLY!?! - FlyersGrace
Not surprised.
Rick Tocchet's man crush on Mario Lemieux is limitless and unceasing.

So take that for what it is worth. Boyle would be cheaper. |

Berube just wants the team to play faster. Ghost and Honka are guys who can really move the puck and skate.

Reading his twitter feed while the Pens are playing is nauseating.
To be honest, I won't miss Tocchet on the TV side. Enjoy Western PA. |

hopefully he gets the head coaching job so we can dominate the pens again. |

Not 100% sure I would group Prongs and Savard into the same group there. Savard took a cheap shot while Pronger just took a freak puck to the face but wasn't the result of a dirty play.....
They still need to do something about the charade however. No reason he shouldn't be able to retire without punishing the team. - vipeviper
Snider missed the boat on this with the new CBA it is a travesty what players and teams have to go through just because they are over 35.
Age Discrimination of sorts even though its a rule
You can retire without issue if you signed the contract before age 35 but age 35 is too old to retire without cap issues ????? |

On Steve Ott...
The Flyers love Ott and I believe are going to make him a prime target.
I hate Steve Ott. Where does he play if the Flyers still have Brayden Schenn, Vinny Lecavalier, and Sean Couturier?
On the other hand, he'd definitely provide a boost to the bottom 6, provided he doesn't cost a lot. He's a pretty fair faceoff guy as I recall. I don't know what his fancy stats look like. He also renders Zac Rinaldo obsolete. |

I prefer when Al Morganti is in the studio. Tock is OK, but I can't get past the fact that he's such a honk for Mario and the Pens. |

I guss my thing is Kovalchuk walks away from his deal for KHL. NJ places him on restricted list and doesn't have to worry about LITR or cap hit.
Prongs an Savard suffered from a play that wasn't thier fault. |

Nice to hear that one of Murphy's strengths is working with young defensemen. If it helps us get the most out of guys like Luke Schenn and our defensive prospects that's a big benefit that this team really needs. - Coburns_Nose
Yeah, this. I do think we can get some more consistancy out of Luke Schenn. I'm glad Hexy is hiring guys who are still along that teaching route. I only hope Luke and the other Guys are open to it. I often think the problem with bringing on prospects too soon like Schenn is that they close themselves off from being taught more. |

I guess when I think about it Ott could be the guy on 3rd line wing with Couturier and Read. Since they are on for tough draws it gives you two guys to take draws. He also can provide that grit and still have offense. Kind of what they wanted from Downie. |
