Yeah, doesnt look great.
But there isnt a guy in this class rated as high of any of those guys. And 4 of them could be considered the 'generational talents' I mentioned. (hall is as good as tavares imo, but thats a debate for another day. Also, in Tavares' year; oel is fantastic. Gonna be a perernial norris candidate.
If u had 2c's in bjugstad and barkov and wanted to solidify your d, you could do ALOT worse than oel and tanev.

Basically, I asked the original question to ascertain two things;
1. Will draisaitl still be around for edm
2. If u take ekblad, it's gotta at least be possible Myers is available for the forwards/picks you need/want

One thing we can count on is edm struggling year after year, so maybe we could entice murray into a better shot at the mcdavid sweeps and get myers for our 2015 1st+ something

It could go many ways. If ekblaud goes 1 I think buffalo takes reinhart 2. But if Florida takes reinhart than buffalo takes draisaitl second. It's been along time since a team took a defender #1 overall. If it didn't happen with Seth jones in Colorado I doubt it happens in Florida. Just like Edmonton passing on Murray for yak. It's just too hard to pass up.

It sounds to me like, had he been the GM in 2009, Myers wouldn't have been his pick. Still, he knows he has value. I think when all is said and done, Murray doesn't envision a team where Myers is his #1 defenseman. Whether that's addressed this year should Ekblad come available, or in future years remains to be seen.
