It would be awesome to draft Bennett and Ekblad but that will never happen unless Florida drafted or traded the 1st and that team picked Reinhart, the Sabres picked Ekblad and then the Oilers made a deal with the Sabres for Myers + for the 3rd overall pick and the Sabres picked Bennett.

I don't think it's that much of a stretch. I know it's said every year but I think the Panthers trading the pick is sitting 50/50 right now.

They trade that pick to say Vancouver, they end up with Reinhart now all of sudden maybe you entertain the trade option with the oilers (assuming Murray really wants someone at third and isn't too high on Myers).

a later round first next season would be worth a top 5 this season. THis years draft isn't as bad as some have said . it's still pretty deep with talent.

There are quite a few national mocks that have him going 4th too.

You know what you are getting in Ekblad and Reinhart.

Bennett and Draisaitl have the highest boom or bust of the top four guys. This organization isn't in a position to chance that. Take the safe play in Ekblad or Reinhart as one of the two will in fact be there at 2. That or move back.

might not have to give up Myers . we have a sh!it ton of prospects and a few 1sts next year and a bunch on 2nds we could expel . trade Quantity for quality. We only have so many spots for contracted players .I don't want to give up Myers .

Not a chance Edmonton trades #3 for anything less than Myers IMO.

They're weakest down the middle and you'll have to overpay for them to pass up Draisaitl.
