Alex Morgan is hotter than Hope.
I thought this right away. Everyone thought I was nuts.
Hope is a 7/10 - Giroux_Is_God
Totally agree with you, and it's not even close for me. Alex Morgan is one of those girls that I look at am I lose my ability to talk or think. |

4th liner
See above answer
No, but I'm confident he'll score 10
Yes
I think Schenn doesn't kill penalties not because he broke his foot, but just simply speaking, other people came onto the team who were placed higher up on the pk depth chart, like Raffl and Hall - Giroux_Is_God
Oh, I agree with you. I do think better penalty killers have been acquired over Schenn but Rinaldo has seen time there and to me when you put Rinaldo on the PK, it's time to look into better options. |

4th line center, some PK time ~ 14 min a night
that would be a solid first year
I think with the French guy, Laughton and Raffl they have the makings of a very useful 4th line like you see on the top teams - Marc D
I will assume nothing with Bellemare coming in.
Not saying Laughton won't be good for us, I just don't want to necessarily overrate him. I don't think he'll come in and Wow us the same way Couturier was able to do. Instantly decent faceoff man, Penalty killer and shut down center against a guy like Malkin? How did we get so lucky?
I also do not expect Laughton to bring in the same offense Schenn was able to bring his rookie season. Schenn was lights out after finally getting his first at the Winter Classic. I thought he was good his first go around in the playoffs too.
Scott Laughton has a lot to live up to this season. |

So Scott Laughton can't just come in and do his own thing and go his own way... he has to win a head-to-head comparison with Coots/Schenn to really satisfy us?

He doesn't really have a lot to live up to though. No reason to force certain effective role on him. He's gonna be a 4th line defensive guy who kills penalties this'd year.
He really doesn't have to live up to much of anything |

I don't believe he has to live up to anything this year. In the 5 games he appeared in with the flyers previously he didn't look out of place.
If he can come in and be solid defensively, and possibly contribute 10 goals and 15 assists, I'd say it was a successful rookie year. |

If it means trading Schenn and Schenn for a top defenseman and trading Vinny for pucks I'd be absolutely fine getting ott for third line duties while moving couts to the second line. - PhillaBully
No Ott sucked in Buffalo with no support and he sucked in St. Louis with support. He just sucks period. |

Reading some of the comments give me a feeling that some might have too high an expectation. Some have even suggested Schenn get traded in hopes Laughton becomes our third line center. So I only asked and gave my thoughts to see where the average group expects his role to be in detail. |

I disagree that Ott had support with the Blues or at least I disagree from an offensive standpoint. The Blues aren't really that great offensively. The Blues in my mind already had a solid defensive structure in place thanks to Hitch, while already having three solid top natch defenseman. Then you add Ryan Miller that got them on a roll that I feel overrated them. Who carries that offense for the Blues though? This isn't to say they can't score but who carries that offense as consistently as Giroux carries us? |

Agreed, Also makes all of the Ott rumors kinda ridiculous if you have a someone coming in to fill that role |

I don't know. I think there is a fit here with Ott regardless of whether or not Laughton makes the team. I don't have this tunnel vision that Ott is just a fourth line center that some do. |
