Ah, the old Edmonton style kick in the nuts. Ruthless. Bonus points awarded for intra-divisional groin shot - ZemgusTurtlsons
Problem is Montreal say we'll take the pick's and then draft in the top 5 next season...... |

IMO you can get away with having both of them in the top six for a few years.
Let Hodgson inflate his stats playing top line minutes. IMO he's a 25-30 goal scorer with some talent around him. Ennis IMO would be fine to have when we are good, he's tenacious and has talent, seems to be a guy that will do well in the postseason - sbroads24
Agreed. Love the little guy. Not as big on CoHo as I was the first year we had him. But he is one of the few skilled players on this team right now. |

Ennis has that ability to get dirty when that's what has to be done to score.
I would keep him at wing or center when we are good |

One can play in all three zones, the other can't.
One has speed, the other can't get out of 2nd gear.
One has been playing a more gritty game, the other hasn't.
IMO they are two completely different players. Hodgson IMO should be moved as the team speed is awful and he's part of that problem.
I still say Hodgson, St Louis's 1st, plus is going to the Peg for E Kane. - dadeadhead
I didn't mean to imply they are the same guy. I know Ennis plays better in the neutral and defensive zones and that Coho is a more consistent point producer who always seems to be standing right next to the guy scoring for the other team. That said I prefer to keep Ennis of the two because I do agree with the speed and tenacity points made by u and smitty |

in a perfect world, ennis and coho are both on the wing, if both kept moving forward
sign stastny, moulson and cammalleri
make the kid they draft play right away
moulson, sam, coho
cammalleri, stastny, staff
ennis, girgens, stewart
conacher, foligno, flynn
(waits for the sabres with all this money can't get a free agent to sign here comment) - homiedclown
Guess you don't care about getting McDavid or Eichel

3rd line shut-down center , IMO. - jochfr
If that's the case I still see the second line center being a Sam (or Driasatl) zemgus the 3rd and your top liner coming from 2015 draft. So the point about Coho and Ennis being expendable still works. I'm not saying trade them for chicken wings. Just that they are tradeable assets |

Even if we could sign those guys...
That team still gets knocked out before the conference finals IMO
I'd rather look long-term
I wouldn't mind making one, or maybe two moves to bring in a good young player now... Bc I don't think 1/2guys takes us off the path to McDavid/Eichel

Erhoff and st louis 2015 first for #5 overall - beargk
I doubt Ehrhoff will have changed his mind about going there
But even if he would...
There's no way I'm helping nyi get better this year
We want that 2015 pick to be as good as possible!!! |

Ehrhoff is a very good player, but he doesnt make much of an impact regarding that 2015 pick imo. Plus we could snag dal colle at 5. Nice winger to rid shotgun with whatever center we take |

I'm sure they could convince them to sign here, but why would you want to pay stastny 10 mil? or Cammalleri 8 mil a year? That's about what it will take to convince a top 6 forward to play for the worst team in the league that isn't based out of LA, Chicago or NYC.
Make a trade for a high cap hit, sign a few players to short term high cap hit deals. Will serve the team better long term |

It would give us some more big contracts for people to whine about.
Stastny isn't a #1 center, Gaborik is scheduled to miss 40 games this season, Moulson is ok, and if anyone else mentions Brad Richards coming here I might puke.
