Honestly, with all the things you can rip JJ on- His obnoxiousness, his never being right about anything, his devotion to meatball hockey, His never ending love for Brandon Bollig and Dan Carcillo, His inability to ever admit a mistake, his cross dressing, His refusal to pay any one of his 227 parking tickets, his failure to live a strict vegan lifestyle, the tacky way he matches his shoes to his belt, his poor choice in deodorants, the fact that he hasn't clipped his toenails since 2009….. it seems silly to criticize him on a Ryan Kessler trade rumor……
I think people should try and separate JJ from HockeyBuzz. It seems silly as JJ's blog is on Hockey Buzz. But these days Hockey Buzz becomes a synonym for "Made up trade" Lots of people, canadian press as an example, will ask "Is this a real trade rumor or is this a Hockey Buzz rumor" Eklund runs his sight the way he runs his sight so this kind of backlash is not surprising. But JJ's Blog, I have found< has always been a very well thought out, Point of view on the Hawks, their players, and management team. And when I do disagree with him, it's usually a nice spirited discussion……One that I always win because I am superior to JJ in every way.
Regardless, It would be a shame to just consider JJ "A hockeybuzz guy". He runs a great blog and I'm grateful he let's us play on it.
As for 24/7 McDonough and his cronies are already working with "Shaw's Crabhouse" "Girl and the Goat" and other Chicago institutions have Blackhawks "spend the night" at their establishment and make 24/7 promotional piece for the city of Chicago. Christmas party at Navy Pier…. - yahoodi
You are superior to me in every way. Because of your Mom.

Wow, alot of interesting stuff today. Had to do some back reading.
1) So depending on who is talking the hawks are staying pat and doing next to nothing or making the blockbuster trade of the off season.
2) JJ is either the best source for Hawks information on the web or out to beat his own drum and lives to raise the ire of his considerabe following here on HB.
Well as a big hockey fan, keep it up. This blog and HB are always up on my brouser when I can. Several of my friends get trades etc sent to their phones thru some ap. It is yesterdays news in HB's world generally. Collectively there is a mass of knowledge here and some spirited insights on all things hockey and most of all the Hawks. I've learned alot here and more importantly find it entertaining for free. |

Hello, Savvy, how's the off-season treating you? - mohel
Hi Mo (and SteveRain) -- waiting for the shoe/boot to drop on Nick Leddy and for Unnamed and Elbows to send me out the invitation to the parade they'll be throwing when this happens.
Been checking in on things here but haven't posted since there's not much to say at this point until something does happen. All of the crazy trade suggestions get tiring after a while and will be glad to see what, if anything, does actually happen.
As I read the write-ups about the various players either in the AHL or upcoming draft, I find it exceptionally funny to read about the d-men and their various shortcomings. Almost all, without exception, you read how they are short on skating skills. When they're compared to someone (say Seabrook) and they say that this guy or that guy is so good in certain areas and then compare the skating by saying they don't have the mobility of Seabrook. Gotta laugh.
Well, if some of the guys get their wish, it will be pandemonium on Madison I guess. If Nick does go, all I can hope is the Hawks really get something of value that will bring us a CUP this coming year AND that Nick gets to go somewhere where he'll get coached up a bit and maybe have a little more belief in what he can bring than Q thinks of him -- although Q did seem to gain a bit more confidence in him in the LA series.
Only other thing I'd like to know more about (and I guess we will at some point) is the whole Sharp stuff. Clearly the guy wasn't hurt, was he banging a teammate's s.o.? Inquiring minds would like to know -- his mind was elsewhere during the playoffs, that's for sure.
And I do hope we get wind soon of the Toews/Kane re-up. Everything starts and ends there. Once-in-a-lifetime kind of talents.
How's the world treating youz guys?

To be clear, I was saying that I don't think the Kane leaving thing will happen. It is my belief he'll sign, along with Toews, in early July. |

Things are fine. I'd like to know what Sharp has done, too. His name has always been gold to the Hawks and he's suddenly being dragged through the mud; which is a known ploy by McD (Sosa, et al) before getting rid of a guy he previously pumped up.
Glad you're doing well. |

Hi John,
Thought I'd say Hi while I'm at it -- don't let the jerks/detractors deter you from the great job you do here making a home here for all of us!
It's really unfortunate people can be so petty, so jealous that they drag your good name through the mud but almost any sane person should quickly realize they're after making a name for themselves and use your blog to benefit.
Hope all is well with you -- maybe I'll be able to catch up with you at a Jackets game during the upcoming season.

How does this deal help the Flyers, other than saving 0.175M in cap space? - eburgio
that is the entire reasoning on their end....and here is Columbus...with a player who says he wants out, and they are able to get proabaly just what they need until Rychel's ready...a disturber, who would have thunk it? |

A deal that makes sense for both sides. Who would have thunk it?
I continue to be impressed by Jarmo and JD. Not saying they are the best but they definitely are not the worst. |
