The depression is lingering....

Or is it the fear of needing a point against the Germans ?

Or should it be a F U attitude and "All We need is appoint against the German s , phuck the Germans... " type of attitude....?

We beat them twice before.

1918 and 1945.

After they bombed Pearl Harbor.

Soccer sucks.

Yeah - but the tying goal was just like Kane's against Nashville with 5 seconds left: all alone on the goalies right.

No reason for that give away at midfield under 1 minute to play, and the best player on the field did the rest.

Still the best World Cup game I have ever seen the US play.

I got it, Sage. Given the world knowledge you've shown on these pages, I strongly suspected you knew the Germans did not bomb Pearl Harbor.

Prolly better to keep him at W. With his size just cut him loose to hammer the D and get after the puck. Seem to hear more about McNeill then Danault lately.
- z1990z

“There are still some areas he has to improve -- playing bigger, taking puck to net harder, puck protection and size,” Dent said. “That stuff will all come.”

sounds a lot like Bickell

There is an old Pittsburgh paper article I read yesterday where the head coach of that team admits he and the GM tried to lose, and questions if Eddie O. was trying to do the same to draft Ovechkin.

Let me see if I can find it.

I remember Cleveland fans holding up signs that said "Lose one more for 7 foot 4" when Ralph Sampson was a senior in college. Honestly, I would be surprised if the Pens didn't avoid putting themselves in the position to win some games.

The TSN piece certainly suggests that Eddie Johnston had a goal of getting the first pick.

I've been out for several days, and didn't have time to back read the past few blogs.... I noticed that one blog had the Hawks doing only a few small trades, while the next two had Kesler coming and Sharp (and others perhaps) going. Was this two separate sources, or is the front office going back and forth that quickly on what is needed?

He also has the Hawks at 30% on Derrick Roy and Devin Setaguichi.

- jhawk159

If St Louis does not see value in retaining Roy despite his salary, then his value is questionable. Is he also a bit brittle? Setoguchi is nothing but a slight upgrade over Morin to some because he has played NHL. There is more to Morin's game so I like Morin better. Both Setoguchi and Morin have the shot to win games.
