Can Goc fill the 3rd line role? If he could, I wouldn't mind seeing Sutter packaged in a deal for a big return. If TK's RFA rights can be traded for a mid 2nd, sutter should be able to grab something much better - drummer829
Yes. Goc can fill that role. And I wouldn't be opposed to it. However, we are (again) backed into a bad situation because we need every able bodied bottom 6 forward we can get... |

Zero issue with this depending on the return .. Add Brian Boyle and the 3rd and 4th lines are centered around Boyle and goc ... Now build around it |

Truth!!! Anyone who wants fleury is for the least common denominator. .. 2nd or 3rd round exit is satisfactory ... It's over people... Fleury needs to go ... Do the answer to your question is preferably miller but anyone not named fleury - Brianandr1
Yea, the way I look at it is -- we trade Neal and Fleury. We have the trade return plus freed money and end up with something like this
Evander Kane
Jonas Hiller
9th overall pick
Benoit Pouliot |

I understand the desire on trading Fleury, but all of the names floated out there do nothing for me. People throwing out Hiller. He was recently benched in the playoffs for a rookie. Others throwing out Miller. He has the same issues as Fleury, slightly above average goaltending, with no success in the playoffs, at an even higher cap hit. |

Trading Fleury doesn't make sense only because he doesn't return much. Without actively shopping him though, packaging him in a deal could make great sense. |

I just don't see it. In the WPG deal talked about here, i don't see the Jets doing it. If you break it up, it's Neal for Kane, and Fleury for their first, which is a top 10 pick. Their GM would be run out of town if that deal was accepted. |

What is your goal here ? If it's to win a cup fleury needs to go... Some are ok with mediocrity I guess ... I don't get it |

I did a trade involving sutter and a 2015 1st for E.Kane. Not really sure if that would be enough. I also dropped scuds and adams and signed Pouliot

You'd be lucky to get Kane for Neal and Fleury let alone a top 10 pick.
This is the kind of value a Kane deal would have: Jordan Eberle for Evander Kane |

i got a bad feelin that the straw hasnt broke the camels back yet with fluery. they will give him 1 more year, and that will be one more year lost.
and for those of you that keep on talkin trade one of our upcomin first round pick. i say do not. we dont need this mentality of puttin all of our eggs in one basket because crosby and malkin are in their prime. did anyone see yager play this year. i think we have plenty of time with those 2. but i dont want to see this franchise go down in flames 2 years from now because we traded all of our pick away to get a skilled winger for 87 then he plays like he did this off season. what a waste that would be.

Miller is a better option ... Much better when you consider that he was in hockey hell the last three seasons
I m not a fan of hiller or Reiner but either at 2 mil per is better then fleury at 5.
People here are complaining about miller at 6 vs fleury at five. ... As if that was a deal breaker. ... But Reiner or hiller at 2 is not an option ... Time for a reality check ... Trading fleury is addition by subtraction come playoff
Time ( not blaming him for Boston or rags) but not winning a cup with him |

Ugg. Maybe so. Maybe we add something. Is Kane really THAT good though?
I still explore shopping Neal and Fleury together. WPG was just one team I thought would really be interested in the Flower. |

Penguins aren't really in a spot where they can deal Letang. Niskanen will be moving on and they will need Letang and Martin to lock things down. |

Saw on twitter that Snow was willing to trade the 5th pick for a scoring winger. So how about:
Neal and 22nd pick for Okposo, the 5th pick, and a 2nd? - cap1681
even minus the 2nd its a rip off for LI |

Even though Letang has been protected as a shut-down in his career and he's probably going to lose his PP spot to Pouliot in the next few season?
I was thinking that the double shoulder injuries to prospected roster D to begin the season would be the only reason that Letang would be retained before his NTC activates. |

Letang had a very bad season and he was still better than half the defense corp. last year.

I keep hoping Gibbons is hockeys version of Moonlight Graham. He had his great shift, now it's time to walk across the gravel stones. He doesn't belong in the top six and doesn't work on the fourth. Third line? Maybe. But I'd want different. - Topshelf Mountain
gibbons is the only bottom 6 besides sutter that earned a spot on the team this year. a bright spot in that pile of crap |

Do you think it's riskier to get lowered return on Letang now or allow his movement clause to activate and see how his health pans out? I think the complications of the NMC and potential to really cement a reputation for chronic injury are a greater risk. This is from the perspective, naturally, that Letang has certainly got to be moved. |

I think you will come to find out that in this new CBA that Letang's contract will not look so bad. Look for Subban's deal to start with at least a 9 at the beginning. |
