Barzal or Strome will probably overtake Hanafin by the end of the year next year, just a gut feeling.

IMO that would be taking two steps back.

If you're moving Myers, it had better be for a proven player.

He has one but it doesn't kick in until 16-17 as that is his 1st season he would be eligible to be a UFA.

Size didn't help San Jose, BIG Joe Thornton is a playoff bust. Chicago's top 6 forwards are 5'9" -6'1", they are not huge at all but won two cups in recent years. Bigger isn't better unless the guy can skate shoot and score high end. Talent with grit wins. Big guys with no heart like Steve Bernier will win you ZERO. I wouldn't go out of my way to draft smurfs but I don't like huge guys like Myers who are soft as mink fur. A regular size guy is good. Zetterberg and Datsyuk are not huge at all. etc.

Ric Nash is huge but total playoff choke artist.

I don't think that's the direction buffalo wants to go. I think buffalo is gonna get its 2-3 best fowards of the future in the next 2 drafts and come year 5 of Myers contract we have a blossoming powerhouse. We have a lot of skilled grit out of fasching, deslaurier, Girgenson, larsson and carrier. Now if we can get 3 excellent offensive fowards out of ennis, hodgson, armia, grigorenko, compher, stafford we could be awesome. I Don't see moving Myers as a move to make us a Stanley cup contender in a few years. I respect ur opinion and u might be right with what TM wants to do with our team. Just at this moment I dissagree with moving him.

Not that I would want to trade him for Ekblad anyway, but if we traded him for the 3rd and DIDN'T get Ekblad with one of our picks it would be bad.

It would be a step back. You trade a top four d man for a skilled forward who probably goes back to junior for one more year and by not being here helps you suck to land a top two pick in 2015. I strongly feel u need that elite #1 center to win big and I will take my nut shots to get him. It's nothing against Myers really, more just feeling the d prospects we have in system now make this move possible. I respect your opinion, you clearly know your Shiite I'm just saying I think I would do it. In two years your d is Ehrhoff, Pysyk, Risto, Zadorov, McCabe, maybe Weber or Ruhwedel as a 6/7. And that's without landing Ekblad. Maybe I'm nucking futs but I do that deal.

Nice schedule. A lot of Western Conference teams to start the season. Oilers at home on a Friday night and Avalanche on a Saturday night is cool.

The best is no Maple Leaf games on a Friday night. One Saturday night, so I will stay away from that one.

Edit: They really need to go back to the home team wearing white so that every game does not look the same at home.

I don't want us to trade Myers, especially if there's a chance that we don't at least get Ekblad or Hanifin. We have a great group of defense shaping up, I don't get why people want us to trade Myers for more forwards when we are going to get them anyway.
