Posted this on Garph's blog, but wanted to see what you guys thought. Who do the top 4 project to be?

Ekblund = Erik Johnson
Sam R = Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Sam B = Toews
Kings of Leon = Kopitar

http://bleacherreport.com...in-the-2014-draft/page/11

I actually think these are pretty accurate from what i've seen, but if this is the case I would obviously like Bennett or Leon. Bennett will need to bulk up a little bit to fulfill that projection, but I think his size is being put into question due to his pull-ups fiasco. 6 ft 180 isnt that bad for his age.

This is only page 6, what are you doing here already?

There's a special thread for that...

Anyone looking at Nashville as a possible trade partner with the Sabres on Friday? We take on Rinne (buyout) and they give us their first or something along those lines. Thoughts?

Do you really think Rinne needs to be bought out? I know he had a rough year, but I would attribute that to being injured. Not to mention the team in front of him was subpar as well.

you just gotta hope that TM is a good assessor of talent and makes that right choice.. it is interesting that i have seen more than a few people say they think Reinhart won't be much of a stud for a top 3 guy...

I dont know all of the details, but didnt some infection come back and they had to side line him again. If they think hes damaged goods, then having to pay him 7 mil for the next 5 years might not seem ideal for them. Just throwing it out there.

Kevin Devine says he's one of the best if not the best play maker in a long time and our pro hockeybuzz scouts say he's going to be an awful top line option.

Gee wiz. I think we should petition to take KD's job.

which I have no idea where that comes from. He has been touted as the smartest player in this draft.

I am sure they have insurance on him . Most teams buy policies on these big contracts if it is career ending.

Yeah he had an ecoli infection in his repaired hip. He's fine now if I'm not mistaken.

Size didn't help San Jose, BIG Joe Thornton is a playoff bust. Chicago's top 6 forwards are 5'9" -6'1", they are not huge at all but won two cups in recent years. Bigger isn't better unless the guy can skate shoot and score high end. Talent with grit wins. Big guys with no heart like Steve Bernier will win you ZERO. I wouldn't go out of my way to draft smurfs but I don't like huge guys like Myers who are soft as mink fur. A regular size guy is good. Zetterberg and Datsyuk are not huge at all. etc.

Ric Nash is huge but total playoff choke artist.

- MrSquirrel

can't argue on the san jose thing, there squirrely...and am with you on the individual players as well (although you're a little harsh on myers, imo)...

but...

kane is 5'11 and so is versteeg who was with the club in 2010, but not two years ago...

also, the kings had no one under 6'0" in the top-nine this year...size seems to matters these days...and I think murray kinda leans towards that as well

It did but he is fine now... I really don't think it will be an issue moving forward.
I haven't heard anything negative about it since the end of the season.

Handling guys with injuries is half the battle. Everyone is going to get injured at some point or another. They've actually had a goalie carousel there for years. It seems nobody really sticks for more than a few years. Then they're moving on to the next guy.

Bennett definitely has some of Toews qualities. I don't like the Draisaitl/Kopitar comparison, and the Ekblad/Johnson one is spot on IMO

You know who else had elite playmaking ability in juniors?

Claude Giroux.
