Apparently it's time for me to drag out my annual rant on HHOF criteria.

It's time they stopped rewarding guys who were better than average for a very long time.

Eric Lindros may not have played long enough, but at one time, he was simply the most exciting hockey player in the world to watch. Nobody did what that guy did.

Nobody ever bought a ticket to watch Mike Gartner play. He was a great player for 100 years, but he was never one of the best players in the game.
