Flyers owner Ed Snider may be the only person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame twice as a builder – for his team and for other teams.

Maybe the only way the Jackets would take on the 5 years left on Hartnell is if we took their bad deal? - Jsaquella
I guess saying no was never really an option |

Most likely had too. Teams aren't just going to take your bad deal and give you picks.
We have to remember this isn't NHL14. Two gms have to make it work to get a deal done. Can't just say I am taking just picks and you'll like it |

Just amazes me when these "athletes" act like they're in severe crippling pain after getting brushed against and then are somehow are able to regain the ability to run at full speed. |

I do realize some.would, but I wouldn't. Not this year. I would take the risk on seeing what Schenn is and that the defense we drafted develop.
that's not a bad trade, but I wouldn't pull that trigger...yet - AllInForFlyers
Problem is this might be the only chance you get to get him. I might throw in another pick if they take VL. But...then again....I might get crucified for that. |

We all know power forwards get so much better with each year over 30.
I mean, look at how well Mike Knuble and ... and ... um ...
did I mention Mike Knuble? - Moose_15
Wait, there was that other guy.
What was his name...
Oh yeah, Mike Knuble.
Can't forget about him. |

How are we supposed to know what a guy can do when he is only on your team for 7 years? - funmaster18
Beats me. I guess you'd have to ask the Corsi guys. |

The story is he really didn't get along with Berube.
Maybe the best thing is that it's a harbinger that undisciplined and careless play will not be tolerated, even if the guy is a team leader. - Jsaquella
you know, if that is the case then I actually feel better (not good) about it. Holding people accountable is important and commonly builds a winning attitude in the long run.
As far as the 2 step forward/1 back talk I would suggest that this is still a poor trade if that was the desired outcome. Just take the 4th. I can not find a rationale explanation for why this is a good trade.
BTW: THN's comment is total BS! Hartnell was given more chance then anyone in the organization. He was a penalty machine and I will not be sad to see some of his antics go. Still didn't get value! |

His name was Mike something.

From THN on the Hartnell/Umberger trade:
All this does is reinforce the notion that, thanks in part to the perpetual impatience of owner Ed Snider, the Flyers won’t succeed at the league’s highest levels because their key components are never allowed to settle in for too long. Players such as Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Sergei Bobrovsky and others have been deemed not good enough for that organization, yet found success relatively quickly once they moved on. You can make the case that, individually, there were good reasons for dealing each of the players they’ve dealt. But when you look at the larger picture, you see a franchise suffering from a horrendous case of restless leg syndrome. - Pixote Andolini
Which has 0 to do with this trade. |

Ha! Man, it's your opinion -- post it. Someone around here isn't gonna like it, no matter what you say, but the more opinions, the better
And if they took Vinny...then maybe I would look.harder, because that deal needs to go |

Yeah should have gotten back a 2nd and a 3rd. Just the 4th rounder feels like a throw-in. |
