Figures, I'm wearing my Hartnell Down shirt - Jsaquella
Looks like you need a Hartnell Gone shirt now.
I'm sitting here just repeating "what in the hell" over and over. This makes no sense to me, unless Hextall's going to trade Schenn and is afraid to lose the C depth. |

Maybe the jackets are eating salary?
Otherwise, this is a horrible trade. |

I love the deal. Got a pick out of it in 2015 supposed to be great draft. Also Umberger plays lots of wing and can play with couturier and read as a legit shutdown line with offenseive capabilities.
If he can move Vinny now? WOW |

yeah. right now, hartnell may be the better player, but he is going down fast.
he would have been harder to move with each passing year. this is a slight step down in order to essentially free yourselves of those last 2 years. aggressive, and objectively like it. |

I don't think people love Hartnell, but he's a better player than Umberger. Doesn't make much sense. Perhaps it's the pre-cursor to a flurry of moves. |

Ok dude first off the term "deep draft" is irrelevant after round 3
I guess if they go the RJ third line route, read is bumped to line 1?
2 less years is nice. |

Yeah, but Umberger is older and has the same cap hit. Idk don't really care for this trade. Only benefit is Hartnell has more years left on his deal. |

This is a bad deal. Umberger was a scratch for Columbus. This would be like the Flyers trading VL for a much more productive player who is signed a little longer. |

Sounds like the initial reaction from Flyers fans is bad. I love it. Hartnell was up and down the lineup under Berube. Mostly down. It seemed Berube tried to make him play a more reserved game and it just wasnt working out.
Getting out of that contract alone is huge. Getting a guy like Umberger to step in his place for two years is just gravy. |
