I really love this deal. Umberger is superior to Hartnell in every facet of the game save maybe top-end speed.

I think he'll be rejuvenated here. He looked disinterested in Cbus.

He's a good teammate and well liked by everyone. He lack discipline, but is still very productive. A bankable 20-30 goals every year.

This is a bad trade. If they wanted to move Hartnell to free up salary, they could have done it without taking back a player like umberger

It just seems odd to me that he would waive to go to Columbus. Why would anyone waive to go to Columbus?

Which is why my first guess is that management was pushing him out.

But I really have no idea - which is why I'm asking Flyers fans.

Not really. The draft and July 1st are fast approaching.

I'm sure you love this transaction like you do every other. Flyers just traded a player they play on their top line, for a guy who was a healthy scratch in the playoffs.

Me too... Although the last couple years with him have been tough to watch. He really struggled.

I'm saddened but good with the trade since I think Wayne Simmonds is a similar player.

Hopefully there are more moves to come.

Why go so high? Offer a buyout candidate and a mid-round pick. How about we trade Giroux for Briere and a 6th?

They may not keep Umberger around... buyout is a possibility.
