MO: What would you say are Reinhart’sleast attractive assets as an NHL prospect?
CN: His skating has always been an area that I looked to as an area that needs to improve. He’s a fine skater at the junior level, but he’s not an overly dynamic player. There aren’t too many games where I’ve seen him blow by defenders or catch guys flat-footed. I think his stride is ok, I just think it will take some time for him to get a stronger lower body and to work on his explosiveness and footwork. If he can ever get that part of his game to an “above-NHL-average” level, he could be an extremely dangerous weapon to have.

I remember you saying if we drafted him we would have 3 of our top 6 forwards slower than the 2nd coming of Christ. You have also said that Reinhart can't score and always passes first. Passing/playmaking? I'll take Reinhart. Hockey IQ? Reinhart. Ability to make those around him better? Reinhart. Shot? It's closer than you think, maybe better. - Herzeleid

Director of NHL Central Scouting, Dan Marr:
“Exceptional player with the puck, his offensive hockey sense is off the charts with his vision and playmaking. A good skater whose top-end speed can still improve. A responsible player who quietly leads his team.”

I'm not here to give you articles I'm too tired for that. I just gave you an article quoting a scout regarding everything you wanted to know about Reinhart but forgot to ask. - GilPerreault11

And Bennett has a lot of it too which many overlook. The grit that Bennett has is a bonus on top of the skill and skating ability. I just have not seen a Sabres top 6 forward with skill and grit in years. |

But you keep saying " all these experts " have the same opinion of Reinhart . What Experts ? Who besides you thinks Reinhart is a going to be a flop . That is all we are asking for . For every one of your experts that bags on Reinhart we can give you 5 that say he is a good choice . I think he is a 2nd line center when all is done . But that is this draft on a whole . Most players near the top are projected 2nd or 3 rd liners |

Oh that one, the one with just one guys opinion......
got it.
What you left out from that article was.
Strength comes with time and Reinhart has just that. As he continues to grow and train with NHL players with NHL regimens you’ll see that leg strength come into play. Chances are he won’t reach the elite level in terms of his skating but I don’t think that will hamper his career as an NHLer.
MO: How high is Reinhart’s ceiling? What role do you project him to fill when he reaches his prime?
CN: I think he has the ability to be a middle of the pack 1st line center. That might sound harsh, but I think he could end up being a guy that’s not quite a top 10 center in the NHL, but is more of a guy who is ranked 10-15 in that area of the league. I don’t see him as a true franchise cornerstone guy, even though I’m sure some scouts do. Ideally for me he would be a guy that is one day a fantastic second line center on a championship-caliber team. I think he’ll be a captain of an NHL team one day and a guy that can play first line powerplay minutes and also someone who can kill penalties if you need him to.
Obviously if you’re picking somebody first overall you want them to be a franchise player. The perceived weakness of the draft class may be hurting Reinhart here but I think it would be perfectly acceptable for a team to select this type of potential 1st overall should the team need these services and talents. |

So all the draft gurus have it wrong and you have it right ?How many Kingston games did you go to this year to see this amazing Hockey IQ ? How many of his games did you watch . Reinhart comes from hockey genes . You are telling me he does not know what it takes to win ? He put his team on his back in the playoffs and carried them a lot further than expected . Bennetts team got knocked out in the first round . I think you greatly underestimate Reinharts grit . You don't have to skate through the boards to have grit . Having grit can also be raising your game to another level when needed.

You honestly are telling me that Reinhart with 3 penalties last year has grit? That he is going to be fierce comptitor like Bennett? Ok, forget about the grit you have no concerns about his skating? |

ROR had 2 PIMs all of last year.
I'd say ROR is a fierce competitor that many have said they hate to play against. |

So getting stupid penalties and putting your team at a disadvantage is grit ? Did you know Ryan OReilly only had 2 minutes in penalties last year . I don't see him being accused of having no grit. No Reinhart's skating does not concern me . They said Tavares was a weak skater too . Are You telling me you would not want him on your team ? |

Go listen to the GMTM interview from months back where he says about Bennett he does what the other guys (Reinhart et al) do but will spear you and is fierce competitor. He didn't say that about Reinhart so I'm thinking he won't spear you and is not a fierce competitor in his opinion. It seems like you are writing a fictional tale with a fictional character in it. |

It was an example by our GM about what Bennett will do to win it wasn't a literal description but a figurative I believe. We've had far too many pacificists on the Sabres over the years and drafting a center with speed, talent, character and grit is what most fans would ordinarily want if they weren't brain washed by the amateur Kris Baker's of the WNY world. |

You are doing the same with Bennett.
I'd rather have the guy that scores on the pp while Bennett is in the box for that spear and scoring in the followng games while Bennett is on a league timeout.
The vast majority of people who get paid to do this for a living (mock drafts that is) have it
Ekblad
Reinhart
Draisaitl
Bennett
DalColle
I happen to agree but I only used my eyes while watching them play to come up with my opinion. I said from the get go either Florida takes Bennett #1 and Ekblad falls to 4 or Ekblad goes #1 and the rest fall into place. I haven't changed my opinion or statements on that since the beginning
The same article from Florida that you posted said he's see's Reinhart in the 10-15 range for center's league wide but as a fantastic option as a number 2 on a championship team and is captain material. Has the best hockey sense he's ever seen in a player. If this is what you want in a player he see's no reason he can't go number 1.
I see no reason to not take him at #2. |

And Reinhart has been in the National spotlight a lot longer than Mr come Lately Bennett . As a lot of articles have stated Reinhart, has been over scrutinized . No one said Reinhart is Tavares . What was said was Tavares was accused of being a weak skater as well. Just stop it. Reinhart was also in the west so we hear a lot less about him than players playing in the OHL. Bennett has been groomed by Doug Gilmour . Great . Reinhart has a father who was a good NHL player and two brothers that were drafted before him . You think being the youngest of three boys does not give you grit ? I was the youngest of three boys and continually taking it from your older brothers gives you grit believe me.
