No Lakers, No Knicks, No Bulls. I'd love to see a Parise/Sutter type pairing and they go to some "smaller" place like Golden State or Charlotte or something.

Not only do I agree, but I also think the Sabres fans have been through enough as far as watching players leave Buffalo and getting their nameplates on their jerseys changed.

But there's that small part of me that would be tempted to do it. Maybe its because we've heard the drum beaten for these top 6 guys for months. Which leads to my next question:

As a GM if you had to choose, spend in free agency this year vs. Trading Myers to be in the top 5 this year which would it be?

If my options. My only options. Were to either spend money in free agency OR trade Myers for a top 5 (1,3,4,5)... I'd only trade him to draft Ekblad. I'd want something else from Florida as well. Mike Matheson to be exact.

I'm not saying it's fair, I'm saying that's my price to get rid of a proven top 4 on an upswing.

If it's the 5th overall for Tyler Myers, it's paying too much. IMO.

Edit. Even 3 and 4 I don't think I'd give him up. I'd still want a decent defensive prospect. He's going to be a top 4 defenseman for the next 12-15 years. That's not something you just give away for an unproven prospect in this particular draft.

I was working during the Pat Riley interview when he was giving the history lesson on teams and how many titles were won over a time period. Micheal, Scottie, Horace Grant won 6 in 11 years...... I was like um.....Grant was only there for 3 of the titles and the Houston Rockets I hope send Jordan a very nice Christmas card for retiring the 1st time. No way they win their two titles otherwise.

what do the hawks have that they are willing to move to allow that trade to happen? Saad/shaw, McNeil and their 1st.. both florida and chicago need centers.

They're not even really trying to hide their intent.



The thing is, Murray has stated that he's willing to draft Ekblad...

But I'm not so sure that Sabre fans are ready for this reality.

for those who think the sabres plan on tanking for a top 2 pick next season, why would they move halak and a pick for Neuvirth and a salary dump


if the plan is to tank, they had 3 goalies to put out there next season


and for the cap floor logic, they will have no problem reaching that and the extra 1.5 mil from Neuvirth is minimal

you take Ekblad and you have the opportunity to next season trade one of those d prospects for another 1st or for a bonafide NHL center
