Not a chance. The only reason why they're talking up Draisatil is because he's something different from what they have currently. Not because they're hurting for scoring. - SuperCat
They were 24th in scoring last season. |

Reinsdorf bought the Bulls for 15 mil in 1985. If a team that has won nothing in its history just sold for 2 billion, the Bulls gotta be worth at least 3-4 billion right? - dadeadhead
I would think that the $2 billion price tag is going to cause some franchises in the NFL and probably Major League Baseball to question how they are valued. |

Hehe, let em keep Gagner then. But I prefer CoHo to Gagner myself. - SuperCat
I do as well, I just don't think that deal gets done. |

Agreed, even a few NHL teams like Toronto, Montreal, NYR, LA, and Chicago. |

IMO the fact that many think/have been saying Ekblad's ceiling is no higher then say Risto, then they have that player in their system already in Nurse and Klefbom.
The only center worth a damn is RHN. |

Why would a cap strapped team want phaneufs contract? RoR is a good player but not worth #2 overall. - joshs
They aren't cash strapped at all just trying to negotiate 2 big deals at the same time.

The only thing that makes me think they would take Ekblad is the fact that you usually don't draft for depth that high. You're going for the guy that makes the biggest impact. Remember, Colorado "needed" Seth Jones, more specifically defensive help. They drafted MacKinnon anyway. FWIW, I never bought into the hype that Seth Jones had ever really passed MacKinnon. I'm convinced CSS is a bunch of scouts that couldn't cut it with NHL organizations and try to make headlines just to get themselves noticed. |

Sure, but somebody in FA will take their money...
No reason why Edm can't target a guy like Derek Roy and lock him up to a 3-yr deal.
Roy has been riding these 1yr offers of late, I'm sure he'd like the financial security. He'd find some high octane running mates out there on the wings as well. |

They were the worst team in the league in goals against! - SuperCat
Something they got better with once they got Scrivens and Fasth.
Amazing what happens when you put two real NHL quality goalies back there.
Who knew?
Fasth 2.73 and .914 sv%
Scrivens 3.01 and .916 sv%
vs
Labarbera 3.28 and .870
Dubnyk 3.36 and .894 |

Problem is Roy's not the same player he once was IMO. Which is why he was only getting 13:37 of ice time a night. He's more of that 3rd line shutdown center at this point in his career. The speed has never come back to him since that injury. |

I think most teams realize (Chicago this year is an example) that you need a really good 1-2 punch down the middle.
RNH is a small playmaking point producer, they would love to pair him with a bigger 2C than can possess the puck |

Gee, I wonder what the bigger story would POSSIBLY be Friday night on ESPN:
Lebron opted out of his contract (on Tuesday) or the NHL draft...

Which is why IMO no matter where they picked, Draisaitl has been their guy. Had they won the lottery, they would've moved back to a spot where they could've gotten him. |

I haven't adopted anything to replace it, I just get my sports news online now, that way I get what I want instead of waiting around for a producer that's decided when the info is worthy. |

You think he's going to re-sign in Miami? No rule against that in the NBA? |

nope. All three can opt out and sign 5yr max deals for like 127 mil or 4 yr 97 mil deal with another team. |
