Don't care where he goes honestly.
He's 2-3 when it matters. GOAT he'll never be. |

My 2 biggest complaints:
8,000 timeouts
soccer-like sniper target practice on every trip down the court
otherwise I like basketball, but it's just too tough to get past those things for me to care anymore. |

Best thing ever. Phi fans say Hartnell is terrible and will never be good again. CBJ fans saying Umberger is terrible and is not even considered serviceable. |

I think most teams realize (Chicago this year is an example) that you need a really good 1-2 punch down the middle.
RNH is a small playmaking point producer, they would love to pair him with a bigger 2C than can possess the puck - sbroads24
take the best center thats on your board at 2. i think its safe to say the market for the second will be soft. neither edmonton nor calgary are going to overpay for ekblad, and i dont wanna drop past 4. we are 2 centers away from having 2 good centers. take the center and tell the world you had him highest on your board all along. lie if necessary. |

Of the two, I'd rather have Hartnell on my squad. He's a solid player. |

Just an IMO.
Philly made out on the better end as RJ's deal is done in 3 years. Yr 4 and 5 of Harnell's deal is gonna be brutal on Columbus's cap. |

The opt out will allow him to re-structure his contract giving the heat more flexibility to add this off-season as well.

The 8,000 timeouts are ridiculous. The last 2 minutes of basketball are 4x's as bad as the last 2 minutes of football. And the fact that teams can intentionally save up fouls for the end of the game, AND IT WORKS. |

Hartnell has had the better career, but I think he's much more on the downswing than Umberger.
Umberger won't put up the type of numbers that Hartnell did when he was at his prime, but he is a servicable 3rd line guy. |

College basketball is the worst for this, they will cut to a commercial break for anything including the 20 second timeouts. |

He won't be playing with one of the best in the world anymore though.
I see him as nothing more than a 45 point player on Columbus.
Umberger will give Philly 40 points and the same veteran leadership as Hartnell but at a cheaper price tag(total money due). Allows one of the young guys to move up the depth chart too. Something that was going to happen anyways and IMO Hartnell quietly ask to be moved, since he did have to waive his full NMC to do. |

Speaking of Clbs... What's it gonna take to get Nick Foligno in the blue & gold?!
At 26 yrs old, he'd seemingly fit the timeframe of this rebuild perfectly. He has Ottawa connections w/ Murray, of course his lil bro is currently in fold.
A jack-of-all trades utility like Nick Foligno would really help stabilize our bottom 6.
I'd really like to see what kinda damage Kaleta could do ona line with those Foligno boys. Or even a Stafford/Stewart type. |

More than you or I would like to give up.
They like him and he likes it there.
Said he wants take on a more offensive role and become more of a leader on that team. |

I really like Nick Foligno and I have for a few years. Can't see any reason they would move him. Like DD said too, price would be to high.

Team yes i agree, player not so much.
If it's a team option and the team decides to drop the contract then i'm inclined to agree with your thinking.
However if there's a player option clause, you've conceded giving the player full rights on what to do with that final year and what to do after they've opted out.
The players would never agree to allowing teams to opt out of contracts unless they had a similar right to opt out and perhaps re structure to benefit them and the team. |

Well hey... if somebody out there is looking to take on more of a scoring role, they won't find more opportunity than on the lowest scoring team in the league.
Murray said it himself, there are certain types of players who may find this sort of opportunity enticing.
This is situation where a Nick Foligno type could find himself running with the 2nd PP unit, or maybe even on a top scoring line some nights. |

If you opt out you should be barred from resigning with same team. Either you want their money or you don't. And don't give me this betterment for the team bullsh!t. He's opting out to make MORE guaranteed money from the same team. |

Gee, I wonder what the bigger story would POSSIBLY be Friday night on ESPN:
Lebron opted out of his contract (on Tuesday) or the NHL draft...
I am proud to have kicked my Sportscenter addiction for YEARS now. - stashu
ESPN is the (frank)ing worst. I'm sure they're paid not to give a damn about the NHL, but it's (frank)ing mind blowing how they would rather follow Patriot's training camp over NHL playoffs, which was actually happening. They're a (frank)ing disgrace of an operation. |

But how high could the price really get on a 3rd line utility player like that really get?
Certainly not a 1st rd pick.
Two 2nd rd picks perhaps? I'd still make that trade. Mainly because you'd be getting a young Top 9 forward that you knew (100%), you are gonna build around for the long haul. |
