If Vinny can be moved at the draft or before July 1 would anyone be interested in Iginla. Boston might not be able to sign due to cap and other deals they need to make. COuld be option on giroux wing for a season. I know bonus overeage but maybe something like 1 year 3 million.
Any thoughts? - J35Bacher
I think he can get at least 4-4.5 somewhere else. I know he's old but he's coming off a 30 goal season. |

If the Flyers signed a player like Iginla, it wouldn't be for the checking line. It would be to play with Giroux. |

Hmm
Schenn-G-Jake
Read-Couturier-Iginla
Raffl-Laughton-Simmonds
Bellemare-UFA TBD-Akeson or Rinaldo
Could do worse than that and if Laughton is not ready, Schenn could slide to center and Raffl could go with G and Jake

Michael Raffl, as much as I like him, should not be our best hope for top line winger. Yes, he had a stretch where he looked good with them (who didn't?) but right now, he's a bottom-6 winger. |

I think he would be a good fit as you don't need a long term commitment like Moulson, Vanek, cammellari will. Only guy I would be ok commiting maybe three years is mason raymond.

And for 6 years. I smell a buyout in in 3-4 years. |

If the money is right he'd probably sign a one year deal. But 3M is not the right money. |

I really hope Hextall takes a look at some of these guys. Maybe low risk moves that could pan out.
Andy Miele - 26 - 72 points in AHL, was a solid prospect.
Zach Redmond - 25- defenseman
TJ Brennan - 25 - hasn't played to potential yet, low risk/high reward
Jeremy Welsh - 26 - forward
Brian Gibbons - Could be solid 4th liner and PK, fast with some edge
Devon Setigutchi - Was a solid player- maybe a 2nd line wing if Vinny is moved. |

Just trying to see what can be done with the limited cap and not for a long term. I read names like moulson and vanek and cammy but I don't want to make the length of the commitment that they might want. |

It's getting borderline ridiculous, these #4-5 guys getting close to 5M |

As long as MacDonald plays well, as salaries escalate over the next few years. Some opinions are going to be changed from bad deal to good deal for MacDonald. |

I think Setoguchi could be a really solid acquisition... He has a ton of speed on the wing and can pot goals in bunches.. Its been a tough few seasons for him, but he is still young and his speed is still way above average.
Brennan is intriguing for a few reason.. One, he is a local kid. Two, I saw him at Ice Works not too long ago.. CRAZY shot. Three, I really think he could be a late bloomer. decent size, good skating, good offensive game... hopefully he can make a NHL career out of it.. |

He was their 7th guy in terms of TOI/G. But he'll probably be a second pairing guy in Edmonton. |

Other than Ference, their defense was putrid. |
