In the other blog I posted I thought Emery was probably gone. I'll revise that statement becuase I completely forgot about the 5 day window that UFA's get to talk to other teams before 7/1. So knowing that I think that we probably won't hear anything for a few more days about him as he dips his toe in to gauge interest. |

That site is aggravating. A buddy of mine sent me the link to the James Neal Twitter Q and A from that site and it was hilarious, so I started browsing it more. I ended up at "Andrew Bynum is selling his Ferrari" or something similar and my browsing stopped there. - TobyFlenderson
There are some very good sports bloggers in Philadelphia.
Kyle is not among them. |

If B Schenn gets the shot at 1LW as an option Hexy mentioned then Vinny could be back at C where he is most comfortable. I believe that adjustment (or lack of) was part of his production drop this season. G - Vinny - Coots - Laughton. |

I typically don't put much stock into what Panotch says ever, but his suggestion of sending Vinny to Nashville for Del Zotto really intrigued me.
Granted I realize Del Zotto is an RFA and will probably require at least 3.5 mill, maybe you can also send Grossmann or L Schenn with Vinny and retain some of Vinny's salary in the process.
Not sure that gets it done. Flyers still dealing from a position of weakness there. |

I'm not sure Del Zotto gets that much. He's coming off of a rough season. |

My guess is that they are letting Razor shop himself around to see if anyone has interest in him as a #1 or 1A. If not, I think he re-signs here as the backup. I'm thinking they offer him 2 years, 2.2 million, 1.1 cap hit. |

Replacing either Schenn or Grossmann in this current d configuration with Del Zotto, would make them woefully undersized. |

True. I'm hoping that would provide enough leverage to get him. Maybe others disagree but I feel like he could be a nice compliment to the Flyers blueline, even if his minutes are limited to the bottom three |

I agree with that, however I don't think anyone, including Nashville, is going to move a young dman for VL. |

I would do Del Zotto for Vinny; thats reclamation project for reclamation project, except ones been paid already. |

I thought about that as well, but unfortunately, there aren't many other tradeable defensemen that I can see Flyers being able to move. Would I rather deal Macdonald? Sure. Seems extremely unlikely. |

If they are looking to replace anyone on D, it is most likely going to be Grossmann. And, if that's the case, I'd rather let Lauridsen and Alt battle it out for that spot, along with maybe a journeyman free agent who can fill the 7th man role. It would be nice if our 6th and 7th dmen each had cap hits of under 1 million. |

Yeah. If they are willing to move him for VL and ask the Flyers to eat $1M per year, Flyers should jump on it. |

Yeah. I don't think they're attached to MDZ, but I'd find it hard to believe they'd part with anything of value for VL. |

Yeah, Alt seems to be the perfect example of what could really help the blueline. Mobility, size, puck handling competence. Hope he forces his way onto the roster somehow |

I had a dream the other night that Petr Straka just beasted the AHL in the first half of the season and then made his way onto the Flyers top LW spot and tore it up.
Then I woke up and had to go to work. Some start to the week. |
