I hope fervently they stay far away from all the
"top name" UFAs.
Too expensive too long deals for what is available - Marc D
Absolutely.
I think Hexy will take this approach, for what it's worth |

Trim/trade some fat
Small smart deal for a bottom six guy with speed/PK ability
7th D, maybe
Back up goalie
Accumulate some extra picks in 2015
I'd be happy |

Yep. The deals players are signing is what we need to stay away from. I mean come on , Callahan 6 years/ 5.5per or whatever. No thanks. I'm fine with hexy moving any deal with more than 4 years for nothing in return. Except g and simmer. |

It would not kill me if he stayed

Honestly I'm assuming Vinny stays at this point. Hexy came out and said that he expects him to be a flyer. Not to say I hope he doesn't get moved, but I just don't see it happening.
Agreed on Grossmann |

Really surprised Yzerman gave him that many yrs
Price of doing business I guess
Plus they are getting 2 1sts back in the MSL deal so that helps if you look at in that context |

Youth is great. Having a balance is great. Having top players is great. However, I just want a team that relies on Claude Giroux a lot less. |

It's too soon to tell what's going to happen. I like both players a lot. I think we're not as good a team now as we were prior to the Hartnell/Umburger trade. I could live with moving Lecavalier but there was a fit for Hartnell here and now he has to be replaced. I just wish he said no to being moved. |

Ho-Sang is an interesting player. I can see the kings or hawks taking a shot at him and him becoming great. |

Saw you mention the song 'Levon'...you're probably aware, but Elton and Bernie wrote that one shortly after Elton met Helm. |

No. From straightdope.com -
Tracing the name "Alvin Tostig" is fairly straightforward, but with a bit of a twist. Taupin has said the name was fictitious. But Taupin was from Wessex and there was a historical "Tostig," who was the Earl of Wessex back in the 1040s. So perhaps Taupin pulled the name out of history without realizing it. |

Huh....I see.
Also, from Wikipedia, "George Harrison has said that while writing his 1970 song "All Things Must Pass", he imagined Levon Helm singing it"
That's pretty cool.

I disagree that he used it in the wrong situation. From where Kane was, there wasn't a threat of being beaten over the shoulder from that angle. It was the right technique to use, just poor execution, in my opinion. V-H would've also been an acceptable technique in that situation. - MJL
yeah, sorry, but you're wrong. it's simple as that. as i stated, it's best to be used below the circle on net drives or walk-outs. from where kane shot the puck, the direction he was moving, the angle, the coverage, all of it...it wasn't the right save selection. and he didn't even really use the vh. pure poop show. |

Yeah, looked like he got caught thinking about what to do and just panicked.
(frank) VH. - Tomahawk
he was in good position and looked ready, facing him with his body turned out but then turned his body pretty much parallel to the line when he shot the puck. i think the release surprised him and obviously found a hole. it happens. not the worst goal ever...it just sucks that it won the cup. leighton is a good goalie. |
