Changing rules to prevent rebuilding a losing franchise is asinine to me, if the owner is willing to trade his assets for draft picks and sacrifice revenue by fielding a less than desirable team he shouldn't be penalized by the league for doing so. Very reactionary and narrow minded by the worst run league in the world.

You need to let it go big boy! Nothing is a guarantee, I believe in TM and after this draft we will have a solid foundation moving forward. If we make the playoffs this year, some of you will be pissed (that cracks me up). Darcy is gone and there is a new sheriff in town, let him work his magic.

In the end, the "have nots" outnumbered the "haves".

It just makes no sense to me, they put in a cap to prevent teams from trying to buy the cup and now they put in rules so you can't take advantage of the draft. Not sure how many other ways there are to rebuild other than getting really luck on some lopsided trades.

Simple...screw the owners. The last lockout pissed the players off badly. I don't see that happening, but it would be awesome if they did. Tell that little sh!t to ...well, you know.

And, as far as Myers goes..tell him to spell his name correctly, grow a set, and use his size to his advantage. He should beat the hell out of everyone coming down his side and who is in front of the net...that is how you teach the league to abuse the other side...much easier to defend onside than both.
Trade Hodgson...he and Ennis are the same and Ennis is better, more responsible...use him to move back into 1st and grab a freakin sniper!!

Bunch of the old boys club temporarily changing the rules I guess. Here's an idea, if you want McDavid, trade your assets for picks. Maybe it works out, maybe McDavid gets hit by a bus. No one really knows what's going to happen so why be reactionary because the big market clubs think they should have a chance at a once in a 5 year guy even when they're on top.

Why did they turn down re-alignment ? If the talent is not distributed evenly , Teams that get an abundance of talent won't be able to pay as much per player . Also the teams that don't have the wealth of talent , pay less out . That was the whole idea of drafts to make sure all teams have talent. Maybe they lower the age to free agency in exchange for approving this new draft proposal. By the time players get to free agency , how many good years do they really have left. The age it is set up now has not worked for anyone .

Our owner was willing to put out the money to have our own evaluation camps to have better success drafting . They saw how good a draft Buffalo had and rather than other teams doing it , they made it against the rules . So now we try to rebuild this way as other successful franchises did and they change the rules again . Fine change the rules but you have to give franchises enough time to adjust to them . You do not pull this crap when franchises are in the middle of rebuilding counting on the rules that were in place.

Your comments are meant the same way . You attack players when you do not understand or want to understand how their development is going . Compare Myers to others like him . Chara and Pronger did not even develop this quick and they went on to dominate . If you get a great return for him fine . But you do not make trades just for the sake of making trades.
