I mean, they definitely tanked so that they could #togetherwebuild, and it's disappointing to miss out of their guy. - BulliesPhan87
we have no clue who their guy was though |

the spurs have potentially 3 hall of famers - not to mention one of the best coaches ever. not denying that at all.
but their style of play can be emulated. their offense does not flow through one person, like the majority of nba offenses do these days. and they have always been a team synonymous with defense.
the sixers are assembling the talent to try to become that type of team, imo. - Crimsoninja
Everything starts with ball in Parkers hands. The offense just takes what the D gives them.

There were other outlets taht had the Sixers offereing 3/10 and 32 to get number one for Wiggins - J35Bacher
And yet, Andrew Wiggins is not a Sixer this morning. |

Just ignore them. People don't understand the mess Hinkie inherited. A bad team which had just traded away several draft picks to get Bynum.
It would be like a GM coming to the Phillies and asking him to make them a true contender next season. |

Just some things on sixers quick.
Brett Brown is not Pop.
Two big men both coming off injuries
ROY in one of the worst draft classes.
Front office just keeps laughing as they never talk to their fans or media
Had one plan. To tank and get Wiggins.
The spurs are team oriented but they also have guys like Duncan, Parker, Ginobli and Leonard which helps the team oriented part. - J35Bacher
I honestly don't care if the GMs talk to the media or not. THey're not going to tell exactly what they are doing 90% of the time anyway, I'd rather just sit back, watch games, be entertained, and if they make a lousy product I'll stop watching. I like the direction the sixers are taking 100% more than the last 20 years that team was run. |

He may not play this year. A navicular stress fracture is a fickle thing. Good that they caught it early and pinned it right away. Helps increase the amount of blood supply that gets to that bone. Dramatically reduces the rate of recurrence.
Now with that said.. He was hands down the best available player. Health was, and still is a concern, but the potential is worth the risk. - jak521
I love that we have our medical ortho insider to help us navigate the navicular. |

The 76ers are patiently building a machine. A machine built to last years and contend perennially. A machine not centered around one player but a machine built upon a foundation of suffocating, team-oriented defense and fundamental execution. Every move they have made is with this longterm goal in mind. They are committed and prepared to take the heat from the local and national media as they continue to slowly build this the right, patient way. - Crimsoninja
I like what they did last night, TBH. I despise tanking, and wish it was not part of pro sports. But at least in a league like the NBA, they are giving themselves a chance |

People don't realize that the Sixers traded away several first round picks for Bynum. They are top 10 and top 15 protected. If the Sixers kept Holiday and played things out, they would have been a fringe playoff team.
Turner would have walked, Hawes would have walked and the Sixers would be left with no 1st round pick. Where does that leave the team? 10x worse off than they are now. No big time FA is going to come just to have the opportunity to play with Jrue Holiday and Thad Young. |

There is a huge difference between tanking and starting from scratch. Ownership wants a winning product. The "tanking" began last season when we traded our allstar guard for Noel and picks.
They are very analytic now. They will look for situation players, guys who do certain tasks, and they will stay the course. It might take a few years, but they cut their losses, saved a ton of money, and have the blue print for a potentially great squad. |
