If that were the case, they wouldnt be doing so much stuff to draw the fans in.

Fine by me. Barbashev is another fairly safe pick with a bit of upside.
- bmeltzer

Bill, looking at the skill level and general upside of this draft, where do you think you would rank Morin or even Haag?

Thoughts on Fiala?
- aightwebang17

A bit of a risk, due to his size. Could be a star, could be the next Mattias Tedenby.

Trade back and take Barbashev and get a 2nd for next year.
- Deasr1

That'd be perfect. Takes two to tango though

Both in first round, Morin as the second or third top D prospect, Hägg in the top five or six (when all factors weighed).

Sweet baby Jesus please let something hockey related happen so no more basketball discussions

OK. Likely (and in the last line, proposed) changes to OT for next season.

OT will be at the far ends, so they have the long change and increase chance of scoring. (More goals scored in second period than other periods.)

There will be a 4 1/2 minute break between regulation and OT for a dry scrape to help with ice conditions during OT.

If the game goes to shootout there will not be a list, offering coaches chance to be more strategic. (And I think that means guys can shoot more than once, but there were no questions so I couldn't get that clarified.)

And the league wants to eliminate the spinorama, which is not generally a move you see in a game, but NHLPA is resistant.

If Ekblad does drop, I'd love see the Flyers offer Laughton, Coburn and the 17th for him. If the Oilers interest in Coburn really is there, then it is a possibility.

Okay who does everybody want if they keep the 17th pick?
- ob18

I've decided Their best option at 17 will be either Larkin or Barbashev.
I think they're safe picks.

Not bad, and I really like what I've been hearing about potential changes to the draft lottery.

I realize that the shootout is going nowhere, so I'm glad they're trying to figure out ways to make fewer and fewer games get there

Interesting points. Maybe they liked what they saw in the Olympics between Oshie and Kovy.

I want Kasperi. I know, he won't fall. But still, another Kapanen can't be a bad thing!

do they require multiple years of "seasoning" in juniors or the ahl?

They said the NHLPA said they were unanimously opposed and one unidentified (but clearly goaltender) rep said, "I don't recall being asked to vote."

Larkin is going to Michigan and Barbashev could use another year with Moncton,.

I think that had more to do with the other talent. It would be difficult to see the Panthers passing on Ekblad for another center.

I really like how you're very patient with the Sixers, but you want Morin up now.
