Nik Grossmann is probably a better analog. Think he's going to be a beast defensively... but he's not going to do anything outside of that. His o-game died on the vine.

Generally speaking, I would say that trading up from #17 to #1 would be really pricey. In this case, Dale Tallon is the GM with the #1 and he doesnt exactly have a reputation for being a shrewd trader.

I can't buy a tank job -- I just can't. I'm as pragmatic as anyone so I do see the flaws on the Flyers, but gutting this roster at this time isn't the answer

I truly believe that while it's difficult to wait, they will be better served by just paying the price to get Vinny off the roster and picking 17th or moving down

Think it's just a function of the draft being in Philly... I'm thinking most host teams have to deal with that kind of wild speculation leading up to the event.

Flyers really don't have the expendable assets to get it done.
