So you guys aren't re-signing Goc? I would so leverage Sutter to bring in depth and sign Goc to take his place. - Tomahawk
honestly, if theyd both be reasonable, id take both back. |

bonino is honestly meh to me. i think sbisa is pretty beat.
okay you got a first. always nice.
but you traded to a conference foe, and didnt exactly get some great big haul.
i would have been in for sutter and the first, and maybe something else small.
but not pouliot plus other decent assets. - stayinthefnnet
Bonino is going to regress, Sbisa looks like a bust and the first rounder is the late one the Ducks had.
Pouliot is a legit prospect with a lot of potential. |

I think we are going to be very unhappy tonight. But I'm willing to wait murdering people until I see what they do in FA. Kimmo would not stay around that cheap if they weren't trying to contend this year. I have to believe that. |

i've seen the end of one episode from last season, when everybody got butchered at some wedding, and fans of the show went batpoop. i honestly don't know what it's about, and pretty much don't care. - hammarby31

former BTB is gonna want some capital just to go away. she probably shat out a kid or two youre gonna have to pay for.
then we have to do this whole process again with the new one.

i mean jordan staal gave the pens absolutely 0 leverage whatsoever. and i think they got a better haul than the nucks did for kesler, who is the better asset.
man, that GM must have been pretty incompetent. gee, i have a swell idea. neat-o! - stayinthefnnet

I'd honestly kind of hate losing Read over Simmonds. - eayost
Not even close for me..
Both players have played 3 seasons with the Flyers..
Read has a better +/- while Simmonds has a better everything else including age.
Read (age 28), 196 games, 57g, 54a, 111p, +10, 30pims
Simmonds (age 25), 209 games, 72g, 69a, 141p, -12, 302pims.

yeah i feel the exact same. so i am glad they didnt move him in a deal for it.
id have gone sutter, the first, and a guy like phillip samuelsson or brian dumoulin. that would have been my line in the sand.

Bet BTB isn't the only sycophant in Hockey Jock's life... plus you've gotta pay the agent, Uncle Sam, contract insurance, and you've got to buy that pickup for your dad and the house for your mum since they took you to practice all those years... |

I'm not going to delve into the research, but I'm guessing the zone usage of the players is very different. Simmonds also gets that top PP time, which he certainly earns by scoring there. When Simmonds isn't scoring PP goals/points, I like Read's game a lot better overall. |

I dont understand why the Panthers wouldn't want the top pick. Ekblad seems to fit their greatest need. I guess they just don't like him that much. |

I think Goc is better than Sutter - PhillySportsGuy
i think sutter has some ability if given decent wingers. but he cant carry a line via possession like staal did. but if you give him say stempy and beau bennett all year (not studs by any means, but not the craig and tanner tandem) i think you get 16 goals, 25 or so assists, and solid two way ability. if he is reasonable in his RFA demands and takes a deal around 3 and change. thats fine by me.
goc has a much lower ceiling to me, but for what he is, hes pretty good. i dont think he will score out of the single digits in goals, but just being able to put him out there on the fourth line would instantaneously increase the possession numbers out of black hole status.
id be totally fine with a fourth line of goc, gibbons, and someone else. |

Fair enough.
I personally think Simmonds brings more to the table and is 3 years younger.
Both players do things well and I would hate to see either moved for someone that isn't a legit or future number 1 dman.
Unless it is Steve Ott, then they should trade both for him.

@TSNRyanRishaug: Just spoke to Tallon, said he’s probly going to make the pick. Said he knows he’s been a little greedy, and is comfortable keeping it.

I guarantee when the boos rain down on the Pens, these Richardhairs wont reference when the draft was in Pitt and Holms was booed |
