Button had Sanheim at #8, and he fell to us at #17. Maybe like last year, we'll get someone like Barbashev in round 2 a la Hagg vs. Morin.

We're probably talking to Vancouver about a Schenns for Sedins swap
- eayost

Bite your tongue, sir! Like what they've been doing, and those guys have Schenn and Couturier on nice bridge contracts

Gotta try to win with players like that

Kapanen would have certainly been a popular pick, and a good one ... but I have no problem stockpiling D prospects.

The Flyers haven't been able to draft competent defensive prospects since forever. They now have nearly a half dozen good young guys, and hopefully a couple of them can live up to their potential.

It's also much easier to acquire a skilled forward via trade or free agency than it is a top defenseman.

- FlyerGuy

Keep in mind our new assistant coach is supposed to be good at developing young D. I hope that's true!

What the frank do you know? Is Sanheim going to help anytime soon? Unless you have something intelligent to retort keep it to yourself.

We can use this formula to figure out next's year's 1st pick. And if there is no 6 degrees from Hexy, he'll trade it

If the Canucks traded for the real Mike Richards, what would happen? Would it be like Back to the Future where you can destroy the future by meeting yourself!?

Interesting stat on Sanheim.

Sanheim had 20 even strength points last year, same as Ekblad, tied for 6th among all D. His 1.2 ES points/60 were same as Ekblad's too

This is a good point. Thanks. Got a little fired up seeing the Pens pick a popular choice.
