The rich get richer: I think LA got a quality prospect in Kempe with the 29th pick.
I am a bit surprised that Barbashev slipped out of round one. I don't think he'll be there at 48, though, nor will MacInnis or Donato. Those are the three remaining skilled forwards I like. Kamenov may be there if Flyers willing to take the risk of drafting KHL-track forward with upside.

Kempe is a perfect fit for the way the Kings play too. They must be tickled pink he was still there. |

Maybe Fla wanted B. Schenn, Simmonds and #17 pick. - Glak18
Yea this must be what Florida would have wanted for the most part. Then it turns into what you really think Ekblad will become and how quickly that happens. If you really think he'll become a stud #1 dman... I honestly think you'd really have to consider it. If you don't think Ekblad will be that good... you probably aren't talking to Florida about a deal for #1.
It didn't happen though, and that may be ok considering how many Dmen they have in the stable now. |

Much more interested in Barbashev. McKeown seemed to fall out of favor with everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the board when the Flyers pick. - PhillySportsGuy
I would be. He is the best defenseman still on the board. |

Would be pretty thrilled to see the Flyers move up and grab one of the sliders. Barbashev would be my first choice. I could see Buffalo taking him with the first pick of the round. I wonder what the cost to move up from 48 would be. |

Bill added some Hextall comments in the blog, and it sounds like Hexy didn't think they'd be able to move up |

Kamenev seems to be a very intriguing prospect. A physical, two-way Russian center, is that possible? I thought all Russian forwards outside of Datsyuk were lazy and lacking in defensive responsibility. |

I have talked to scouts who prefer some combo of Doughetry, Masin, Pettersson and/or Alexis Vanier more than McKeown. With that said, I don't think he'll be there at 48th.

Yes I do, there is a pretty decent drop on D after says 6 or so players.
I feel it was a solid pick. |
