He has what is sometimes deemed a "big personality": cocky, outspoken, and demonstrative. His coachability gets questioned -- he's the type of player who says "I'm a scorer, so don't ask me to play D and limit myself." He gets called selfish and a bad teammate.
Also, he apparently really turned off some teams during interviews at the Combine by not giving an inch and playing their game to tell them what they wanted to hear. He basically came off as saying "I'm not going to change who I am and you'll be sorry if you don't draft me, because I am THAT good."
That is why there are some teams who won't draft him no matter what. - bmeltzer
I cant wait to see NHL D men get their hands on this kid. I really cant.
Hey maybe the goalies too. |

True. Campbell is four and a half whole months older than Pronger was when the Flyers traded for him and he is not a Hall of Famer. But he is a 25 minute a night first pairing PMD who would be perfect with Coburn for two years, at which point the Flyers would have total cap flexibility. - Feanor
My thinking exactly... unlike Pronger (7-years) and Streit (4-years), this 35-yo (2-years) would only be around as a bridge. |

sorry, Campbell is on the hook for 7.1M
so if you retain Vinny salary, all of the sudden a guy like Campbell costs 8.5M for 2 years? |

It's also a lot more cap hit for those 2 years, as well. |

Have you looked at the contracts in 2 years? almost everyone is up.
- nails
Unfortunately Pronger and Umberger will still have a year left, but maybe there will be ways around that. I'm actually a fan of Umberger. I just wish his contract was over one year earlier. Then the trade would have been easier to swallow. |

Jets listening to offers on Bogosian
Two sources have confirmed that the Jets will listen to offers on Bogosian and that he may be the player the team wants to move over Kane or Byfuglien.
If we trade with WPG I would much rather this guy instead of Byfuglien |

But the scenario had Vinny and AMac going the other way... $9.5M out. They can use that $2M+ net and apply it to the forwards. |

I'd rather overpay to rip Trouba out than either. |

Not sure what Feanor had in mind, but my line of thinking is that AMac would be the inducement to prevent that. |

Coots and or Simmonds - Winning
Neither getting dealt...They traded Hartnell partially because they felt Simmer and him were the same player and simmer can fill his role. Coots will never be dealt. If they make a deal it would involve Schenn's, Laughton etc..... Breath easy those two will be safe |

I'm not, especially not to Florida who need to reach the cap floor. I'd rather keep him for one more year than be stuck with $2 million in dead cap for four years. |

He is a stud. Likely cost you Couts ++
I wonder if we could get a Bogo/Kane package...
Says Schenns and our first for Bogo/Kane and their second? Probably cost a bit more than that even.
God I hate trades. |

Lecavalier + 2nd Rounder to Florida for Scottie Upshall? If the Flyers have any chance of moving Vinny Florida is the team and it will require them retaining some salary and giving up a "substantial pick" in return..while taking back a player...the Flyers could grab Upshall I am told.
Eklund
please no - Winning
That's too high of a price. Keep him and try again next year. Healthy scratch him for awhile until injuries come up.
