What's the over/under on how many times Peirre mentions Crosby tonight in some way? |

I'm not, especially not to Florida who need to reach the cap floor. I'd rather keep him for one more year than be stuck with $2 million in dead cap for four years. - Feanor
Same... can only have a small number of RSA deals on the books (I think it's 3), so I'd rather not have one of those slots tied up if at all possible. |

He is a stud. Likely cost you Couts ++
I wonder if we could get a Bogo/Kane package...
Says Schenns and our first for Bogo/Kane and their second? Probably cost a bit more than that even.
God I hate trades. - jak521
I would do that in a heart beat... Both Schenn's our 1st, and a prospect for Kane/Bogo... Winnipeg would never do it, but I would.... We would of coarse have to make a VL move to make it fit under salary cap, but if this deal was on table Hexy would be a moron not to take it..... that all being said this deal will never be on the table |

Is that what you said when they traded for Pronger? - Feanor
The Flyers at the time were a team that was ready to contend with a few key more moves. I don't think this team is at that point yet. And Pronger is a Hall of Fame defenseman who is a difference maker. Campbell is not that player. |

I'd try to do something like B Schenn, Coburn our first, next year's 2nd, and Hagg. And I'd do it. |

Campbell and Pronger aren't even in the same ballpark, and Campbell is one of the most over payed players in the league. I would stay away |

Funny how quickly your tune changed on that regard... because when we acquired a 35 year old Mark Streit it wasnt... idk.. nightmarish.
Guess it depends on the player.. - jak521
It depends on the situation. Funny how a competely different stuation with different circumstances is compared to another. In acquiring Mark Striet did the Flyers give up a much younger quality defenseman that is about 27 years old to add Streit? And also the fact that the Flyers already have one 35 year old offensive defenseman in the fold, is part of the reason why I don't think acquiring Campbell is a good move. Funny why that has to be explained. |

Sounds good to me, how nice would it be if Vinny would go to Winnipeg and we could just add him to this deal to make it nice and neat, but of course nobody wants to live in Winnipeg and I dont blame them |

IMO, watching both players Kane has way more upside then B Schenn...I dont see all the hype around B Schenn. Good player not great player. Kane could be a great player and the winger we need to have a scary 1st line |

Unfortunately Pronger and Umberger will still have a year left, but maybe there will be ways around that. I'm actually a fan of Umberger. I just wish his contract was over one year earlier. Then the trade would have been easier to swallow. - Feanor
Yeah, but if the cap continues to rise as expected, that hit becomes smaller and smaller every year and he will probably be easily tradeable by that point.

Yes, but Timonen is more then an offensive puck moving defenseman in the class of Streit or Campbell. |

Anyone else thinking Pronger gets traded this offseason? Easy way for a bottom-feeder to make the floor without paying much. |

There is no contradiction whatsoever. I consider Timonen a different kind of defenseman then Streit or Campbell.
What's awkward is when the point made isn't discussed, and the opinion isn't challenged, and instead the poster is. Because the point is reasonable. |

So it's about style of play, not age then? Which is it? It's hard to keep track sometimes |

Bill, ya need your own website. Between the Flyers and Stars info, it'd be great. |

Key words: could be.
That is far too much to give up for a "could be" in my opinion. |
