So if the cap is going to be at 68M it looks like the Canucks will have aprox 17 mill in space (according to cap geek) They still have to sign Tanev and Kassian, but still.....

How is this deal better than the one that Pitt offered at the deadline?

In review:

B. Sutter (as opposed to Bonnio)
Despres or Doumalin (Sbisa - who has been now through three teams)
Pen's 1st Round Pick #22 (Duck's is #24)

It just goes to show again VAN mismanaged another asset in a trade.

Terrible...

Bonino>Sutter
Despres>Sbisa
Picks are a wash.

Also that was Gillis and Kesler was only willing to go to CHI or ANA in the end. Not the Pens....probably because of the circus since they fired Shero/Bylsma.

Says the guy who roots for the Canucks? You do realize you just traded one of your best players and one of your top 4 defenseman?!?

Yeah...good luck with that

Ryan Kesler says the #Canucks are "years away" from being a contender.

WE GOT DORSETTT.

(the extra t is for trade)

Kesler 3rd for Boner-ino Sbisa 24th & Dorset.

As long as these players play in their spots (3rd C, maybe 2C in desperate times) 2nd pairing, 4th liner that actually can play & 1st rounder. Gives us more depth for one player.

Could be ok.

I've hated Berdych since he was a Richard to Milos with that underhand serve. What a clown and poor loser. Most of Tennis' male stars present themselves well. Hope he loses for sure!

Better question; why do you guys seem so high on him? Just curious.

ROARING LOL --- you are so pissed you din't get him. If your management didn't go to the media about the possibility of ownership stepping in last year to block the Kesler trade to Pits, you would have him right now. But I am pretty sure your organization's pouting led to Gillis' final straw and upheaval (Ironically needed upheaval) so for your organization's bonehead and unprofessional public tactics, the Canucks would not accept any offers from your bonehead and unprofessional organization.

You are, essentially, in out penalty box.

Terrible.

Not down. Just don't know how he grades out ultimately.

Bonnio vs. Sutter is the one I don't understand. As noted by the blogger, Bonnio just had a season he will probably never duplicate. Sutter will get better.

I just think you guys have a lot of moving parts right now and think you guys could have gotten more from CHI or PITT.

And yes...I'm resentful. We have a chance at a championship. Kesler would have helped.

Despres has a grand total of 3 NHL games under his belt. He might end up being a better player but Sbisa is a safer choice as he is already an established player.

Very good for us! We have a ton of caproom and some teams are going to feel the pinch.

I've liked him for a looong time & think he'll finally put it all together because Desjardins knows him well, obviously thinks highly of him, and will use him properly. Give it 2yrs and he'll be a fan fav.
