Why do you like him, though?

He's at best an established third pairing guy currently. He played 19:50/game last season, but every other season has seen him at or below 17:55/game. In those minutes, he's never managed more than 24 points despite playing HEAVILY sheltered minutes. For those of you open to possession metrics, he's awful in that department, as well (http://www.hockeyabstract.com/playerusagecharts). Add to those factors his injury history, and I don't see much to like in his game.

He's a good skater & underrated puck mover who can play shutdown, throw hits, my idea of a next-gen dman (all around stud with some swagger) etc. Just because he hasn't reached his potential at 24 in a few injury-interrupted seasons doesn't mean there's nothing to like. Just waiting for the mental skillset to catch up with the physical skillset. He's a month younger than Tanev and I have high hopes for him as well. Love having those 2 in the stable for the future.
