When I first saw the name 'Bonino' I was excited....and then I read further and saw Luca Sbisa and Anaheim's pick, and all of a sudden my excitement was tempered somewhat (I was hoping the other player would be Etem)

I guess Benning did the best that he could (although that Brent Sutter proposal certainly looks better now, but unfortunately I know his hands were pretty much tied).

Also find the Garrison move somewhat strange (thought we could get quite a bit more than just some cap space). The guy has played two seasons with the Canucks and had a very decent first season and, even this past year he put up fairly reasonable numbers) 7 goals and 33 points in what was a clusterf*ck year for the entire team/organization)

I really do like the Dorset deal. I'm fairly certain he'll become a fan favourite.

All in all, there needs to be more time to properly assess these moves. Again, though, please DO NOT give up the 6th pick. There were still be quality available there.

Agreed - see my comments above. Basically trading away a fairly decent player (who had the one semi-bad year last year) purely for cap space. Essentially, giving up on Garrison after just two years (one of which was a collective team 'effort' (including Tortorella) in terms of futility

He wasn't that good and was inconsistent (his shot wildly so) but with only a couple teams in his list that was the best Benning could do.

Dude was in the discussion for a buyout at one point.
