Didn't get back what I wanted for Kes. Disappointing but he cornered us like A complete bumhole and gave use no choice. I'm happy with bonino. I think he's super under rasted. But it wasn't enough. First round pick is nice but it's a poopty draft. However. Drafting jake virtanen. So mint. Screw the sure eh bs. Kids a player and I'm happy we got him. Could be the steal of the draft.

Elite offensive skillsets need to be drafted early & stocked when possible. Decent scouts should be able to pinpoint good developmental dmen throughout the draft as well as find late blooming free agents types to bring in (ala Tanev). When it comes to claiming assets, I'd much rather spend early picks on elite/rare skillsets.

Decent scouts should be able to pinpoint good developmental dmen throughout the draft as well as find late blooming free agents types to bring in (ala Tanev). No. I knew we weren't going to get anything out of this world for kesler because spezza is on the market. I'm getting Dorset softens the blow. He's a slid bottom six player that the Canucks sorely lack.

I hear you but it's tough to imagine both of them combined making uo for Neal's offense. Neal's been scoring at more than a PPG clip over the past 2 seasons. Even playing alongside Malkin I don't think Hornquist comes close to that.

I'm guessing there were other issues with Neal though.
