That is not major surgery. I have had 2 shoulder surgeries. He has his arm above his head which proves it wasn't major, and linden said it was arthroscopic which is not major.

Gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed by the trades this morning, and originally not ecstatic about Virtanen at 6. While I do think we maybe could have done better, I'm looking forward to the future now that we're starting over with cap space and a cancer free locker room. Also, I think a future line of Virtanen Horvat Kassian will be money

I like the idea of him being similar to Raffi Torres. I would hope more skill and more restraint but the speed, energy and compete makes me salivate. I like Kass with him as a playmaking winger, and Horvat as a bit of a safety net/digger (a/la West Coast Express). Though Shink and Jake would have a lot of speed...

I hear ya, Bezz. I logged on to TSN and the first name I saw in the trade column summary was 'Bonino' which made me fairly stoked. But then reading further I saw Sbisa and the Anaheim pick and my excitement was subdued (I realize that Virtanen is a solid pick but just worried about further future injury concerns).

I guess we'll see. For the record, I really would have liked to see Ehlers but such as it is

My issue isn't so much the return we got for Kesler, or the fact that we are rebuilding and on the down-swing, i just want to have the opportunity to watch entertaining hockey, win or lose.

Not to sure we will get that with an entire team (apart from the twins who will bounce back) complied of bottom six players...

I think we're worse today than we were yesterday in terms of player quality on the roster but it's the culture that seems to have shifted. Couple that with a new coach and I think the fans will at least be intrigued to watch this team and see what happens next. I'm not sure if that's enough to buy a season ticket for a good chunk of cash though...
