Ho-Sang seems like a douche.
What'd Snow just say?

Garth Snow, not worried about Ho-Sang fitting in: "They (bleep/poop) on me too." Strong.

Loved that. Also loved the move to trade up & snag Ho Sang. |

Good day for Benning. Maybe not the return people were hoping for but some fresh blood, and got 2 people 2 waive their NTC's. |

McCann and Virtanen were roommates at U18 apparently. You've just got to love the chemistry, biology and physics of this pick.

He'll be fine, probably thought he was going to go sooner in the draft, he was ranked 16th NA skater. - LeftCoaster
Compared to Shink who last year thought Calgary would draft him and was pissed they didn't. Instead of pulling a McCann, he basically vowed revenge against the Flames.
As Benning said earlier about Kesler, if you don't want to be here, we don't want you. Dump him now. |

The other concern I have with respect to Virtanen, is how will he handle being in the fishbowl of this insane hockey market? You know the pressure and expectations will be that much higher as opposed to a player from another city/country.
Does anyone know of any examples of a home-town kid reaching star status? - Zogg
I'd like to start with Rocket Richard ? |

McCann is our new Kesler judging from his comments
Wanted Kempe (forgot about him )
I thought McCann would've gone in the 15-20 range myself. |

Sounds like he was more pissed about his draft position? Or he's pissed because he's a center and knows the OHL guys he's played against(Horvat, Gaunce, Cassels) are all centers... |

Ahh, indeed, that is certainly one I should have known. Any other ones you can think of? For some reason I thought there would be quite a lot of hometown lads, but it seems that's just not the case? (and I don't mean players coming back to finish their careers back in their home towns but ones that grew up in the same city as the franchise that drafted him) |

Maybe he thought,"dang these Canucks are so deep at centre, no way I'm going there..." |

Edit: nevermind 23rd. |

I still wouldn't hold it against him too much against him. I like that JB has the gumption to pull the trigger on deals. Definitely has a build in mind and it's vastly different from what we currently have - FearTheeGinger
Seems like the build he has in mind is loading up on bottom 6 C, hoping that one of them will pan out as a 2C. |

There was a kid named Messier that played for the Oilers back when Edmonton had an NHL team...he was pretty good

Honestly the Habs and Leafs are littered with them, especially the Habs since they've had more stars. Mark Messier is another one off the top of my head. There are a few that's for sure. |
