We pretty much need to face facts that we aren't going to be a cup contending team within the next 2-4 years.

I really hope Benning does this rebuild the right way. So far I like what I'm seeing but there are moves to be made still if he really wants to change the culture of this team.

The saving grace is having good leaders in the likes of KB and Hank in the room for the upcoming kids... Meaning we should never as bad as the Oilers for an extended period

I like the picks. Everyone was mad about McCanns reaction on TSN after getting picked... I think the kid was mad about dropping so far and maybe showed a bit too much disappointment from that.

Overall I think this is a fresh start for the franchise.

IF you pick up Stastny you have some pretty damned good C depth, that goes a long way.

Our C's would be good. But we have a few C prospects that should be trying to crack the lineup in the next 2 years. Signing a guy like Stastny for more than 2 years (he'd be way too much $$ for short term) would fill a spot we are trying to fill with prospects from our system..

Many of us wanted him at #24 but Benning apparently isn't into Russians so I doubt he's picked at #36 even if he is available.

Depends on the price for both.

McCann is a good player (and great value pick)... My disappointment stemmed from already having 2+ guys in his projected role in the system while we continue to lack high end exciting offensive talents/danglers/playmakers.

If Daniel could play away from Henrik the depth doesn't look too bad. Especially if we sign a winger; I'd like Moulson tbh.
