Smart way to go I guess. I just don't see how any of the teams in the west are going to beat chi/stl/la/sj/ducks without a massive retool - YakNation
We could get a good return for Bieksa, but I doubt he would waive his NTC |

Bieksa stays. Only guy capable of providing vet leadership for a meat & potatoes retool. Ideally all these Benning pieces adopt Bieksa's attitude/swagger/confidence/assertiveness etc. |

Next NTC to be moved is Burrows, book it. If he has an amazing season, even better. |

It all depends on the return. He will be worth less in two years than he is now, but agree if you are thinking only of next year. Benning is just getting started. |

Quite simply, the Sedins have to step it up. If they can become the players they were before, it'll help this team get back to it's winning ways. |

I wouldn't say that. A team looking for a winger at the TDL night pony up a 1st rounder + for him. |

Mixed feelings on today. Happy Kesler is gone, he had his "A" ripped off his chest by the team and by all accounts was a cancer to this team. Wasnt a fan of the diving crap either. Sbisa will be the wild card, young for a defenseman and still has potential to grow. Liked the Dorsett pick up and looking forward to some young guys cracking the line up. FA will give us a better indication of Benning and co plan moving forward. Hope they sign 1 or 2 decent FAs and make some noise next year because we will probably finish in that 8-10 spot anyways. 1st overall in 2015 is a pipe dream. |

Apparently McCann is already considered kind of cocky, similar to Shinkaruk. I like that both McCann and Virtanen have speed and good shots. The one guy I followed for OHL prospects(Brock Otten) had McCann ranked higher than he should have gone, that guy solely focuses on the OHL and watched plenty of games.
They didn't pick the exact guys I wanted, but they did pick 2 guys I would have had onn my alternatives list. |

This why we're pretty excited after today. I think Benning came in with a set plan and is doing a good job of executing it. Everyone thought a guy like Garrison was here to stay. - Nucker101
I get the impression that Willie had some input into Benning's game plan with the Dorsett acquisition. Pretty good start to the new brain trust's first season. |

Yeah, I wanted more skilled players. I'm not unhappy with the picks. We can pick skill up in another draft. |

Yeah how many games did you see him in? Dude was injured for the majority of the season. |

I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up some underrated free agents with character. |

If he's killing penalties, and chips in 13-15 goals by the deadline, he can be traded IMO. |

Barbeshev and McKeown rated 1,2 for tomorrow so unlikely to be around. - Grumpy13

Liked the trades, mostly for the addition by subtraction factor with Kesler's horrible attitude gone and Garrison and his overpaid contract with the NTC moved. For those upset that we didn't take Ehlers or get high end talent at forward, this is not the year for that. It's clear that we are not going to contend or likely make the playoffs next year barring further moves and several players having career years or exceeding expectations.
Next years's draft is loaded with talent beyond Eichel/McDavid and a lottery pick would likely nab us a potential generational talent. I'm fine with Virtanen and McCann, it's never a bad thing to stockpile depth, even in spots where we have depth already. It gives us options when the time comes and we're contenders again to make moves to get the piece or pieces we're missing. |

Was a little drunk through most of the night. Happy with the way things turned out. Glad we didn't sit on anything. Some cute girls around, doesn't have much bearing on canucks but a cute girl is a cute girl. |
