It's NOT what Benning says in public, it's about his TRUE feelings towards a player and the situation.
Tell me I'm wrong, Benning is upset to see Kesler go, he'd rather have kept him.
So my question then is: if Benning got his way, Kesler would still be here, right?

- Dan&Bob

Who the heck does either Ernie or Bert know Bennings TRUE feelings? Your putting yourselves in Kaptaan's sphere of WTF.

I think more importantly the fans , the teammates and the organization wanted Kesler gone.
- VANTEL

Really, Benning wanted Kesler gone! He insisted even after the trade that he wanted to keep Kesler but that Kesler's mind was made up!

Again, look at the junior numbers of most of the non-goon NHL regulars around the league. Even our own roster.
- Nucker101

Ya - like I said, I know what you mean, but Byron Ritchie always comes to mind. A really good third line guy like Dwight King (LA) had 12 goals in his draft year, he later scored 34 and 25 goals, now he's an effective 3rd line player. These kids have a few more years of development before they're anywhere near ready to compete for a job if at all.

In your professional opinion, which UFA's would the good doctor prescribe?

I'm not going to comment because the Canucks front office does the opposite of any suggestion I make public.

It says here he would yell and scream at his agent twice a day. It then says he want players that want to be here and wishes Kesler good luck.

If you can't see that he is glad to say adios then no point talking anymore

So don't mind Vey as a player.... he is basically what we hoped JS would be.... but would have rather had Roland McKeown.... I think we could have found a stop gap as good as Vey in FA.....and yes I know he is young.... but the kings discribe him like we did with JS..... not good def enough for 3C and not good enough off for 2C at least now......

I like the homework you did. Good job!
Sure, Benning is probably pretty glad that Kesler is gone given what Kesler put him through. I'll give you that. But what Benning would have wanted from the start was Kesler not wanting to be traded.

Usually when new coaches or management come in they talk about all the bumholes they've inherited. So refreshing to see Benning come in and actually like all the players.

He creates immediate competition in the top nine, which is only healthy for a club starving for talent. That's what we need. And, he's way bigger than Jordan Schroeder??? Nothing like each other, he's a bigger younger version of Santorelli, whom I really liked.

It's one thing to like all players (all fine and good), it's quite another to actually want to keep them (ie Benning on Kesler).

I did and it was window dressing to me. @ 3.50 he said we don't want players who don't to be here, and we want quality players , then he provided a back handed compliment at 4.10 as a GM should not air dirty laundry .
