Yeah Benning was probably pissed that Kesler put him through the whole process. Obviously Benning isn't going to keep Kesler when the damn player wants out. Benning is smart enough to go ahead and pull the trigger (something Gillis didn't have the balls or wits to do with Roberto, until the very end).
That still doesn't mean that he wanted to trade Kesler. Had Kesler wanted to remain here, Kesler would in all likelihood still be here. I don't know how you can argue against this point.

I was hoping if they didn't make any trades to the D that they would bring him back for some toughness. They brought in Sbisa instead. Our D got pushed around like school girls last couple of years, so hopefully this is the start of change.
